I was thinking of taking Obi out and putting in his Spirit, but decided against it due to having another big guy out and Jedi Mind Trick. I use C-3P0 and Counterstroke to help ward off the Chokes and Lightnings that everyone loves, and often use Trust Your Feelings on Han. His special ability is amazing. I use the Guardians to soak damage and only occasionally use them in the actual encounters. I will usually shield them so I can use them as an even bigger damage sponge. Because of the 4x Guardians, I felt comfortable leaving Old Ben out. Old Ben protects one character, Guardians protect them all.

    11.

Also, I'll write up a quick tourney report about this deck tonight or tomorrow. My DS report is up on the deck I posted.

But a Guardian with Old Ben protects them all and lives forever and ever... :)

    Anyway, congrats on the win!

:) Yeah. It was more a decision about whether I wanted units or enhancements. I chose units as they are slightly more versitile.

Thanks! It was a really fun event.
    Alright, tourney report.

First game was over pretty quick from what I remember. Like, 15 minutes quick. He had a Navy deck and was slow to set up. Granted, I think he just got a bad draw. I had Luke with Trust Your Feelings and Yoda sitting back with the Force by turn 2. I was, after that, just putting out all my chumps and he had some TIEs coming out but not much. I pulled an Obi, attacked with Obi, Yoda, and Luke, locked dopwn his board and ended it the next turn. DS dial was 4 or 5 I think. He was newer to the game so I was helping him along as well, looked at his hand/deck after the game and gave him some pointers. He's joining our league now!

Second game was against the guy who called me a "Net decker." (Check my DS deck thread for a bit more about him.) He again had a triple faction deck that he lauded as a "great deck because it all came from up here *points to head*." I don't remember much from this game besides my opponent trying to stall for time, not knowing that after you battle you can't deploy again, and other bad things. I do remember him bringing out Boba, bragging about how he is going to take my characters, and then having Obi lock him down for the rest of the game. There was a lot of 'locking' going on as he had Interrogation Droids out and I think a Palp, but I also had Yoda stacked and Obi. And I Twisted him a few times. It was too bad he was such a jerk. Other people came up to me after that and asked if he was as much of a jerk as he has been to them before. Awesome.

Last game was an all out brawl! I remember thinging on turn 2 or 3, "Oh man, how am I ever going to destroy THREE objectives?!" He was playing a Sith deck, not completely control oriented but enough. We both had our big guys out at the start, including Vader, Palp, Obi, Han, and I had a Guardian or two. I slowly worked on Palp and locked Vader. I had some more big guys come out, and he had some chumps. I Targetted Strike'd his resources guys to slow him down which allowed me to put out some Twi'Lek Smugglers and lock him down for good. The last turn of mine I destroyed two full health objectives for the win.

In all the games, C-3P0 and Counterstroke were invaluable. They stopped a lot of Lightnings and Chokes. I still like Gaurdians over Ben's Spirit, but that is a personal choice for sure. Jedi Mind Trick came in to play quite often and really helped to lock down the DS so my big guys could crush an objective and deal some damage with Targetted Strike.
