I see someone at FFG accidentally made this cost 2 instead of 0
At 0 this would be insane. On a bad roll this can essentially force them to waste an entire turn. 2 might feel a little expensive, but it's in line with other cards that can have a similar effect (e.g. Block/Dodge etc).
This card absolutely blew me out today, Abyssalfury is right. If your opponent rolls bad, this takes away their entire turn. It would be insane if it cost less than 2.
I mean this is true but if your opponent is running blue heroes and has two resources why would you allow so many dice to stack up? Especially if they are holding back resources, it seems like it only hits you hard when you are either A already losing (you had a bad roll and are behind so you've gone all in), or B you are rolling too many dice leaving a nice juicy target for die removal like this event,
Sure, but what you're basically saying is that cards like this force your opponent to play sub optimally - generally, rolling all your dice first is better unless your opponent can interfere with them. Cards like this make that a risk, because they have the potential to be devastating if used in the right situation.
Considering the acknowledgement that you should play around cards like this, I think the cost is pretty spot on. Even if it's the threat of the card that might be worth more than actually playing it. Of course, some people would argue that you can potentially cut back on 'threat' cards, because the opponent may still assume you've got them even if you don't. But that's really more of a meta call.
I agree but with the limited card pool your opponent almost always has a way to interfere (at least they do in our playgroup). I'm more often playing around cards like Electroshock and Flank, they are cheaper and allow you to target the dice that matter regardless of the rest of your opponents roll. By playing around these cards I'm already playing around Anticipate without even thinking about it.
The reason I don't like this card is 90% of the time it does the same thing as electroshock or flank, but with a 2 resource cost.
Anticipate is definitely situational and I wouldn't be in a hurry to put it in a deck, but I agree that the costing is about right.
I'm still running pretty rough decks because I haven't bought a lot of packs yet, but it's not uncommon for me to have a bad roll off one character and then roll the next character to maximise the efficiency of a reroll if any of those subsequent dice suck.
It doesn't take a lot of misfortune to be in a situation where you can have a round completely ruined by an Anticipate from your opponent.
But again, lots of things have to line up (bad rolls + Anticipate in hand + resources available) which is why I agree that Electroshock and Flank are frequently better.
