This is an insane boost to every Zarathur deck. 2 cost, 1 hammer with the potential to assign 4 damage? I think this is a staple card for the High Sorcerer.

I also like how the Ally trait is subtly tacked on there at the end. The Imperial Fists Siege Force increases their relevance!

It will also be a somewhat useful card for Ba'zul since the damage it does to itself can be moved to him, but its effectiveness will start to die out once he's bloodied. Definitely a Zarathur card first and foremost

I don't think its effectiveness dies out when Ba'ar Zul's bloodied - it's still 2 attack that can be split between different enemies.  I'd say it's 50/50 whether or not a 1/2/3 would survive a combat anyway, so the fact it damages itself like a Snakebite Thug doesn't really bother me that much.  Sure, Snakebite Thug has an extra attack and an extra HP, but being able to split the attack is nice, and as you say, has additional synergies wih 2 of the 3 Chaos Warlords (and a few of the Elites).

Wanted this in my Zarathur deck but wasn't sure where it would fit/card it could replace. Thinking of swapping out my Snakebite Thug for this in Zarathur deck.

A) same cost
B) 1 less health (but self-damaging is optional)
C) with Zarathur, same damage output but split twice (meaning potentially 2 targets and/or 2 shield cards out of their hand)
D) without Zarathur, 1 less damage but can still split and force more shields to be used.
E) another possible infernal gateway drop
F) same command

Only drawback at present I think is the Ally trait.

I play both.

Might have some synergy with brutal units.

It can only target enemy army units, regrettably :)

Yes. Noticed that now that I've already posted.

Could this unit trigger multiple times as long as it paid the cost each time? With Ba'ar Zul that could be good.

Never mind. Found the FAQ.

So now that all the things that might make this card cool have been ruled out, is there any case for using this card outside of Zarathur?

There doesn't seem to be enough reason to use it inside Zarathur. It doesn't appear to be a strong card, with or without a damage boost.

I replaced it with Berserkers, for now. It did add to the unconditional damage though.
