I think this warlord is going to make a big mark.

Tyranids enjoy a solid command game, especially when paired with Lichtor, so being able to deploy command-only units during their first deploy - then deploy their army into play after command has been collected - is a big advantage for them. The infestation requirement doesn't bother me, granted it's not guaranteed you will always have the infestation, but getting a planet infested is easy enough.

Edit: That being said, given the infestation requirement for Ω, I'd recommend the Blazing Zoanthrope.

His signature squad will often be used to finish off units with 1 remaining HP, making them an often-cheaper Klaivex with similar stats, and 4x to boot. This unit is valuable during the deploy phase as well, killing off rogues or damaged units to throw off the balance of command.

Ruined Passages is a very powerful card, if not just for the effect alone but also for the threat-of-use. I can definitely see someone pulling out of a fight early because this is on the board, and the Omega player not even having to use it.

Gene Implementation allows you to capture a unit from discard, ready, at the same planet as the current fight, without any damage on it... wow... GI allows you to capture:

  1. Blood Angel Veteran
  2. Steel Legion Chimera
  3. Carnivore Pack
  4. All the Warlord Groupies
  5. Honored Librarian
  6. Khorne Berzerker
  7. Every Signature unit

Is this card cheap? Yes

Is it powerful? Yes

Can you potentially use it every game you play? Absolutely

It is my personal opinion that this is one of the best, if not the best, signature event that exists in this game, so far.

Lethal Toxin Sacs rounds out this extremely strong kit with a reuse-able effect. 2-cost isn't exactly cheap, but its not bad, either.

I give this Warlord a 5/5. I think he will have the strongest showing of all the other Tyranids and people are going to be shocked at how effective he is.

Every ambushed genestealer needs to be accompanied by a quote from Aliens. As long as you're able to keep a significant number of planets infested, no place is safe. This is the most excited I've been for any new warlord.

"Spunkmeier! Spunkmeier!"

Anyone know what his bloodied stats are?

I've played a couple rounds with this warlord and really enjoyed myself. However, I found that it was more difficult than I thought to leverage the ambushing into a super solid presence. Particularly against space marines who have such a solid force and set of combat tricks. Has anyone figured out some solid combinations and strategies with this guy yet to make him consistent?
