There is some opportunity here. There are no allied tokens to abuse, and the average amount of non-tau units you will wind up at a planet with will be around 1-2, making this a 2 cost 1/2/3. Certainly not bad stats.

In Startbane this will see some use, and the solider trait is an extra bonus.

I mentioned this in the comments for my Shadowsun/Eldar deck, but I think it's gonna be really tough to find room for this guy.  Once you put in your 15 or so allied units, then add in your signature squad, then your Tau cappers (since Tau have the best 1-for-1's and the only free 2 hammer unit), your Gun Drones...  are you gonna have space for the Auxiliary Overseer?  Maybe.  I think I can (barely) see it working in Starblaze, maybe, but not in Shadowsun and Aun'shi doesn't use allies (I refuse to acknowledge that Aun'shi/SM deck, because I still think it's silly).

Even in Starblaze, I think it might be tight, but on the other hand, one of the issues of the Tau/AM alliance is that they don't have a lot of combat units in the 2-3 cost range.  Probably fits in the same slot as Devilfish, where you pay one less to get +1 HP, but less reliable ATK, and lose a pretty good planet-bully ability.

I've got this in my starblaze and it's absolutely worth including, boosting those rattlings up 1 attack and making the AM command units also valid combatants is very nice, and its not bad being 2 cost for 1/1/3. the health helps keep it around.

wouldn't include this in Aun'shi really, due to low attack value and Aun'shi doesn't particularly need or use allies. Shadowsun could potentially make some use of him as a Shadowsun/marine deck is pretty good

Sadly it's the Overseer himself not the Ratlings or AM command cappers who get the +1 attack. But I do like cards that test your opponent's capacity for on-the-spot mental arithmetics.

ah, my mistake, yes, does lower it alittle in my eyes, but still a fair good unit for only 2 resources

I dunno. If we say 2 for 1/2/3 with no abilities is about 3/5 value, then it takes quite a lot to get this unit into the range of being a strong play, especially as its loyal.

Starblaze, admittedly, is likely to be running more AM units than Tau ones, but precisely because of that, this card is even less likely to make the cut: it's competing card slots with stuff like ECT, Trailblazer, Recon Drone. Its not better than any of those cards, and once you're at 13 Tau units in Starblaze, its probably time to focus on AM units.

I'm able to find space for 1-2 copies in Starblaze, definitely not 3. It works quite well given the fact that Starblaze can drag in extra AM units for those big battles were you'd want the extra attack in the first place. The bigger issue is Starblaze himself ....

And the Kung Fu Panda artwork :P

This guy leading Void Pirates and Freebootas into battle ..... I'd pay to see a movie based on that

Can Bar'zul be the villain? They can fight for days, and no one would get hurt.

Maybe they could do a dance number.

If we're making Bar'zul the Slightly Perturbed the villian, surely we need TC Rubber Hammer as the protagonist? :)
