Nobody likes this card?

It seems like it's escaped scrutiny and discussion, pro or con.

I'm tempted to like it. Non-warlord means it can go on almost anything. Returning to your hand means it will be constantly available. AM units tend to be cheap but just a little shorter on power and toughness compared to whatever you're up again, while gaining +1/+1 is a little bit better than it sounds. It extends the range of all your units (the "usual" version of the unit and the "elite" version that costs one more but is a bit more powerful).

It also returns to your hand. Unlike most other attachments, you lose it and it's gone forever barring a few exceptions that drag it back to your hand. In this case, it'll always come back. As units come and go, you might draw multiples of this card, meaning you don't have to jealousy hold it in your hand until the mid- or late-game when it'll have the best effect if no "perfect opportunity" pops up. You can play it and get maximum utility out of it, knowing that you can still pull it back later even if you lose it.

2/2 Ratling Sniper? Sounds neat.

2/2 Saec Guard that's sometimes 3/3 on a green planet? Neat.

1 cost 3/3 Mystic Warden? Even if he dies, you get your lasgun back.

Non-warlord? That means it can go on a token? Go ahead and sacrifice it to Coteaz or Markis.

And later on, you might just stack a bunch of these on a card that's escaped harassment all game long. Nothing wrong with a Sanctioned Psyker running around with three lasguns (he's holding one with his weird magical powers, I guess) - a sudden 3/7 means he goes from being the guy who always runs away from planets after being punched once to "suddenly a real threat".

And it also shields for one.

Indeed it can on tokens. Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive it can also go on the Glovodan Eagle. "Yo dog, I heard you like attachments....."

I like the concept of the card but I'm yet to test it out. Main issue I'm finding is space to slot it in. I feel that it would work best in Starblaze given the synergy with Ambush Platform (deploy for free, if the attached guy dies in combat then immediately ambush back in. Could make for a decent EAT play that jumps in as a 0 cost 3/2), but I could also see it beefing up Unstoppable blokes in Mavros. I'm just not convinced at the moment that it's worth taking over other cards. It's not that this is bad, it's just that I feel other things are better.

(Santimantal Marine) All factions bury their combattants with their weapons and Astra Militarum does not? Sacrilige!!! Where did you bury your sentiments? This is cursed Rogue Trader and Void Pirate material I say.

Indeed it can on tokens. Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive it can also go on the Glovodan Eagle. "Yo dog, I heard you like attachments....."

This is simultaneously a terrible strategy, yet something I must do.

That's also my potential fear. "Great but not best."

There is the extreme fringe case where you're worried about losing cards from discard effects but want to preserve your shields, so you detach the Eagle, attach this to it, then pick up both mid combat when needed

This card is fantastic in Starblaze running Ambush platform, which is a common support for him.  As this attachment churns through your units it becomes a next turn free deploy and deploy stall for each copy back in your hand.  Opponent kills your unit during combat you can deploy back out to a new unit with platform at 0 resource cost.

It's a pretty decent card, all pro's mentioned here are valid. The one problem I have with this card is lack of deckspace to put it in. I've tried it a couple of games in my Coteaz deck and it worked quite alright. I've also had it used against me by a Straken player and the M35 on a Straken's Command Squad is no fun, making it a 1/4/3 with Straken, that turns into a 2/2 token + shield card if you can destroy it, which is awefully efficient for only 3 resources!

For Coteaz, the higher unit count needed makes it hard to justify, especially when there's Transports, Fortresses, Suppressive Fires and 2 shielders competing for those slots.

I personally agree that Starblaze is the only real place for it, thanks to Ambush Platform shenanigans.
