Is this the worst card ever? It's one of two 2-shielders that the 'nids can get, is there a way to make it work for you?

Like most 2 shield cards, it is mostly 2 shields.

However it is very good in the right circumstances. With Old One Eye it can be a Lurking Hormagaunt or Toxic Pyrovore (a cheap one at that), both cards that win games. Tyranid Warriors is not exactly bad either.

In niche circumstances it can be a Virulent Spore Sacs, which, if you are running Venomthrope Polluter, can even be pinged to a non-infested planet, detonated for the AoE and infestation, and finish the game with your Harpy.

Obviously the caveat is that you are running some form of infest, otherwise, yes, it becomes exclusively 2 shields.

Its a decent card, not sure what you are expecting! Paying 2 resources for a 3 coster like Volatile Pyrovore or Tyranid Warrios is perfectly fine as a move. The only things stopping it from being up there with Drop Pod Assault are the deploy action (which at least allows a little stall) and the fact it has to be an infested planet.

I really like this card. It does help slightly with economy, and allows Nids to recur their amazing three cost cards. Definitely x3 for OOE, maybe less for Swarmlord, though Swarm Guard Recurrring would be nice,

On the contrary, its a very strong card. While its no Gift of Isha (as deploy action is a far worse timing than combat action for a surprise unit) it still effectively paying 2R for a 3R unit, and with a free choice of any of the 3R units in your discard. Volatile Pyrovore and Termagant Horde are great cards to recurse, and even a Tyranid Warrior is decent (for the 2-for-2 command and the decent fighting stats).

If Gift is a 5/5 card, then this is a 4/5 card.

Its also the better of the two Tyranid 2-shielders, though Heavy Venom Cannon is still runnable because of its 2 shields, and because Tyranids currently rely on Elites for game-closing power,

Worst card ever, btw is Dark Possession, with Guardian Mesh Armour a close second.

being one of the actual few 2-shield for 'Nids it's usual to include it in decks: on the other end the ability requires infestation so IMHO it's ok more for the discard comeback that for the 1R saving.

Has anyone had any great experiences playing this event not as a two shield? What is the best target for this card to bring out of the discard pile? Has this card ever been decisive for you?

Either Spore Sacs/Pyrovore or Termagant Horde is best imo. Yeah Spore Sacs recursion at a decisive/last battle is amazing
