My first Tyranid decks featured they 3* because I used a lot of infest gimmicks but I soon realised, that 3 are way too much if you do not play against Aun'Shi with let's say 1-2 Orbital Citys.

Also, in a Tyranid-Tyranid MM they become obsolete VERY fast.

 

I run nowadays 1 copy of this in my OOE deck, but it is not that successful anyways. Is there someone out there playing a roughly successful tyranid deck who has some experience with this card?

I had it included in the first iterations of my OOE Deck. But now that i have focused on Infestation , I dropped it, because I use all the other means of infesting an planet, and it usually works out well enough. Toxic Venomthropes, Spore Sacks, Scything hormagaunts,  Predation. Also I used Fleshborer for a while. For supports I run two digestion pools to make more use out of it, and to pay for harpies.
