How come and there are no comments for this card? Do you fid it goood? Does it have a place in a SM deck? Would you use that or Crushing Blow?
Its got a good synergy with Honored Librarian, as they ready your big hitter as they try to carve their way through to you. It also provides depth of untap options in a Cato deck.
In any other faction, this card would have been talked about more, but Space Marines aren't lacking in options, so its always hard to take this card over Indomitable, DPA, Primal Howl, Eager Recruit, and so on.
As you say, it sits in a space where we're saying Crushing Blow or this. Its probably as good a card as Crushing Blow, but no better. Really depends on style choice which you prefer.
Great synergy with Eager recruit and Honored Librarian, attack with librarian, play recruit, attack, die, ready librarian again.
I think it has tons of potential but the problem is what to replace?
Initial testing has shown this card to be rather good with numerous situations arising where it outperforms Crushing Blow. I wouldn't completely replace Crushing Blow, but there is a good case for going from 3 to 2 in order to play 1 to 2 Vengeance.
As many have said, this is a decent target for the Honoured Librarian, especially if it has a Nocturne Bolter on it. You essentially gain 4 attacks from it in a round, which is a potential 16 damage ... bonkers
However, does this trigger if a unit is killed by AoE? It's not technically an attack is it?
No, as its "by an attack", and as you say, its the Area Effect that is killing the unit, not the attack.
If it said "during an attack", then you could trigger it.
I concur that one copy is worthwhile, especially as right now most people don't account for Vengeance in their counter-play, whereas people often account for Crushing Blow (e.g. by shielding one more than they need to to survive).
I just realized this card helps out when playing against eldorath since he will 90% of the time exaust my librarian, hopefully you have other dudes too that will be able to fight and die to feed the vengeance.
