I feel Chaos or Orks might not be the ones who want to make use of this but AM does have much more Ranged units available to make a very deadly mix of abilities.
4/5
Yay! We get to disagree! That's always fun!
Its a 2-cost attachment with only 1 shield. It'll be so hard to play this, and we're running into serious eggs-in-one-basket territory.
There's so many ways right now to deal with single powerful units, especially single powerful units whose presence is telegraphed massively. All the best targets for this are either fragile or expensive, so there's a lot of risk in playing a card like this, and I think overall its inclusion at more than x1 will weaken a deck.
Best choice for receiving it? Maybe Enraged Ork? Even then, we're talking 2C/4R for 1/2/5 Brutal Armourbane, which is solid but not amazing.
Yeah, that's quite expensive and leaves you susceptible to control or simply one big strike.
Kustom Field Generator can partially solve the problem in Ork decks. AM can use their range. Chaos has noting, off the top of my head.
Dunno, it's strong, but you'll most likely play this if you have no other units to play.
Flash Gitz do dance with this attached tho'.
This attachment is sick in AM.
Yeah? I'm seeing Ratling Sniper as being 2C3R for 1/3/1 Armourbane Ranged.
Whats flagging as a good matchup for you?
Maybe Cadian multi-mortar? Less likely to be pinged than Sniper too...
I agree it's expensive and can turn into a wasted investment if the unit gets splatted though.
True, I do have to state that my 4/5 rating is not based on:
- Including it 3 times
- Including it in every deck that can include it
- Attaching it to giant units
My rating currently only is based on playing it on a unit that can abuse it. Feel free to go -1 at the 5/5 rating if you wish to have the 3 above points to be the reason to give it 5/5.
The main slot I am willing to give it is indeed 1. One card in my 50/51 card deck, for the lategame where this card will be the potential tie-breaker/Warlord killer.
The trouble is in AM it is competing directly with Honorific Imperialis (which sports 2 shields), whilst in Orks it's competing (less directly) with a plethora of game-changing events, supports and attachments (Dakka, Tellyporta, Kannon, Rokkit Launcha, Ammo Depot etc.) plus the splash cards (e.g. Warp Storm)
1x isn't unreasonable, thats fair enough, for a card that could make a final battle look good.
However, its still 1x that could have been a 2 cost unit, or a 2-shielder. Either of those options would be almost as likely to turn a battle, and would be better draws at any other stage of the game.
