This card has no "downsides" when deployed on planet 1.
A 3/4 body always is relevant and in special for a cost below 3.
5/5
And I really like the artwork!
i think we will see him in every deck that can ally with eldar.. Im so pumped to put him on my DE deck..
5/5
Yeah most artwork is really cool aswell, altough I do wish to see more extended art
like the player rewards weve seen so far.
The two-drop both Eldar factions were looking for. Probably my favorite card in the pack.
Any idea how facing choke will effect the drawback? Assuming both decks have decent starts will the tax still be manageable?
Is discarding an all-time choice or do you have to pay first and then discard it only if you cant afford the cost?
I'm 99% sure it's a choice, as otherwise it would be worded something like, "After the deploy phase begins, pay 1R. If you cannot, then discard Warlord Destructor." As it stands the wording makes it a choice as to whether you pay or discard (but you must do one of the two).
This card would still be decent as a 3 cost unit with no text, so even if you're forced to pay for a turn it was still extra valuable as you didn't have to pay the entire cost up front. You're getting a much better unit now and only paying extra for it later if it somehow survives 2 full turns. Fantastic card, 5/5.
If it survives two+ turns I suspect either you or your opponent are making some highly questionable decisions.
In all honesty this card has no drawback, as deploying it on Planet 1 will mean there will be a "serious" battle fought there and if he survives you gain the planet and if he dies, well, he dies.
In special against Choke this card has a "great" drawback as most choke still revolves around the removal of cards and much less the removal of resources. As such the cost paid is a small one if you have less options in hand anway. It is also the direct reason why Eldar can get more use out of the Sslyth Merc than Dark Eldar choke.
Solid card, must try, with another unit and empower.
Sorry for me question .. Cost 2 in first turn in deployment , and when not dies, second turn in deployment phase pay upkeep in 1.1. (Deploy phase beigns) ? Richt ? Thanks
Yes, the first Deployment Phase this card's ability does not have to be paid for.
The turns after that you pay for his ability. Or not.
Agree massively with that.
I think this card is very welcome, and improves the game, but its undeniably power creep above and beyond the level of "more cards = more options". Fortunately we're early enough in the game's life that its more about establishing where the game's power levels are, rather than neutering that which has gone before, but I have to say that cards like this make Core Set units look stupidly weak. Seriously, stick this alongside a Biel Tan Warp Spiders or Shrouded Harlequin, and they aren't even close to being comparable.
I agree on loyal.
Crazy thing is, I think I'd still run it with that bigger handicap.
