I like the concept of these guys. But, in the current card pool there isn't enough Space Puppies to make them worth including. However, another cycle or two and they may be worth coming back too. :)

Hmm... I am not convinced as to this card's value initially, but I can't help but wonder if a Ragnar deck with three of these and one Rune Priest would have a decent chance of trigger. As an end game play, it could be pretty nice to play one of these, trigger a Pack to put a Pack in, repeat, then trigger to drop in a Rune Priest. Net result: 3 resources for four mid strength units, even if three of them are exhausted.

I think though that while that janky combo would be a satisfying endgame play the card isn't strong enough to merit inclusion generally. Will playtest before scoring.

Their ability doesn't have enough targets currently to be truly amazing but meanwhile they are extra users of Ragnar's Warcamp and Frostfang. Unfortunately, those are only 2 cards in 50 and they are just 1/2/2 newbies for 3. If the Space Wolves' tank for Isha warpack is powerful but expensive, these guys would become more useful despite the stats.

I do fancy a fun deck with Promotions, Rally the Charge and Ragnar's Warcamp.

Incredible effect with indeed a very interesting concept. Currently however the Space Wolves pool is not deep enough or better said viable enough to really make this card work to incredible standards. However it still remains a good card by itself I simply really wish it had 2 Command Icons so it would be totally viable by itself. (And remind me of the Eldar Rangers).

Currently a 3/5. Good but not perse good enough for now. The more Space Wolves the better however. Makes you think if White Scars Bikers where Space Wolves on Fenrisian Wolves at some point during design...

Isn't there a rumor floating around (or leak) that a Space Wolves tank is coming out? If so these guys are going to be nuts with this card. Predator, Dread, whatever it is I'm worried if rumor is true.

Yes about the tank its on the first spoiler page of the last pack with the Urien spoilers. This I feel is pretty dang good now. I have been running 3 rune priests for awhile now 10 total space wolves almost half my fighting force and I save money dropping them in they work further down the line put them at planet 2 or 3 or 4 and if the warlord goes there drop in a RP or a Ragnars guy and then move ragnars guy to ragnar or another blood pack they work with the double damage of the warcamp and running a few promotions now is worth it in a space marine deck just to use rally the charge for kicks and giggles.

It's says "deadly tank" so it defiantly isn't a speeder. Nice! I thought those guys would be good. My Pack comes tomorrow can't wait to try it.

Third paragraph. Just right before the AM Artillery.

I'm actually liking these blood guys with just the Priests and the Sentinels. It can only get better,

But the pack doesn't work with the Predators Reaction.

And having free 5/5 is bad?

Thanks for the link on the Predator preview.

I think the issue here is that neither card seems terribly good on its own, so combining the two to try to get the combo happening seems to be a slight trap.

However, a free 5/5 is pretty useful as has been said, so it might be worth it to run 3 of each in a Ragnar deck, and use it as a serious closer move to the game. Testing definitely required!

Edit until rule clarification on the predator tank.

Since I saw the preview yetserday I've been more and more excited about being able to use the Blood Claw Pack. They're one of my favorite Units that came out of Zogwort's War Pack and I'm excited to get to start using them. :)

Just to nip some of the theory-crafting discussions in the bud, everyone realizes that the "put into play" reaction on these guys will not allow you to trigger the "after you deploy" reaction on the Predator, right?

I'm not knocking a free 5/5 army with 3 command icons. I'm just saying there isn't some sort of wacky combo here to retroactively "un-commit" a warlord.

Choose one or the other. a 5/5 for free or you can block a warlord from committing to a planet. Seems like 2 decent options.

Does the ability works when the unit enters play with a drop pod assault (on a planet with your WL of course)?

No. The reaction is to the warlord committing to the planet. If you are putting him into play at a planet where the warlord already is, you are too late to trigger reactions to the warlord committing to the planet.

And could i use this unit reaction to play another copy of this unit and then use that unit's reaction to play something else?

Yes, you can since the framework is still open.

One day they'll make something that will combo properly with these guys - a 4 or even 5 drop, maybe with some kind of enter-the-battlefield trigger. And then they will become great. FFG seem to slowly be developing the meta for more trait-based combos - there's already the Black Templars 2-drop to support their warlord, and you have to imagine that the Orc vehicle warlord won't stop them printing some decent AG vehicles for him to abuse.

Fingers crossed.

I like these guys. I regularly put 2x Predator in my deck, so saving the money can be nice, even if I don't get the ability.

With Lonewolf coming up , im going back to build a Ragnar Spacewolves Deck

Dropping a 3/5/5 for free is amazing, but restricting the enemy warlord's commit because he doesn't WANT you to drop a 3/5/5 for free is pretty great too.
