To answer your initial question: Yes
It works well with the Ion Rifle and a strong attack unit, say, the Honored Librarian or Righteous Initiates (but also well with those Reclusiam Templars coming in from HQ exhausted on a blue planet) in a Drop Pod oriented setup.
It is rather telegraphed though and there are plenty of counters, but it is certainly not a bad idea.
Nice deck. I would probably recommend the Jump Packs in favour of Iron Halos, and Earth Caste Technicians since you're packing nine attachments, but it is a matter of preference. Have you had much success with the Ambush Platform approach?
