First things first, this deck was inspired by TheNick's "Fire the Formoson Smasha Batteries" Coteaz deck. Hats off to his completely innovative and interesting build!
I loved the idea of punishing your opponent for winning command and drawing cards, so just needed a way to try and make it my own. Here is the result. The strategy is similar but rather than killing your units for their "when destroyed" trigger, this deck builds around Maksim's ability to simply - if you'll pardon the pun - tank the damage. His signature unit paired with an Enginseer Mechanic and a support/two shield card can happily absorb plenty of indirect damage with health to spare, while it's unlikely that your opponents' comparable mid-range units will be able to do the same: forcing them to either sacrifice their smaller ones or start taking the pain on Elite/Warlord units. The combination of Clearcut Refuge and Sister Allegra creates a damage-sucking machine that massively augments her own health (you have got a tank out, right?) and then readies the support to do it again immediately follwing her swing. There's very little than can deal enough to keep up with her as she slowly kills everything else at the planet. All the events have been chosen to either deal more suprise damage; get supports in or simply save expensive tanks whilst retaining a good shield ratio in case Maksim gets bloodied.
Ps: I know that the Dozer Blade might be a better option for this deck as an attachment but I couldn't pass up the opportunity for anti-mobile. And artwork that features a giant gun...

Enginseer Augur only has 6 valid targets - I wouldn't bother. Shrieking Basilisk may have a deck that it is good in, but I don't think this is it. It's not a tank, and its HP-to-cost ratio is bad. Mordian Hellhound... well, not much I can say about it that hasn't already been said. Seems way worse than Griffon Escort in this (or any) deck. Surprised to not see To Arms!.
Edit: Also, I like the idea behind using Seraphim Allegra, but since Smasha Gun is a Deploy Action, she only really reacts with Catachan Outpost and Clearcut Refuge. Which is enough for her to be useful, but not amazing.
Ah but they don't know that about the Auger, and sometimes you really need that one Clearcut Refuge or Clearing the Path to succeed. It's not as if you HAVE to trigger his Interrupt if things are going your way. Thanks for the clarification on the Smashas, guess they'd be a bit broken if you could use them anytime! Having had a couple of games before tweaking this a little I'm actually considering taking three of her - definitely woman of the match in at least two games. Once people saw what she can accomplish with a Clearcut Refuge they just shoot everything at her! As for To Arms, I'd prefer to have a whole new support in (lowering my hand size by two) than ready an existing one. Might try it sometime though, thanks for the input.
