Interesting, no Exterminatus.
I haven't found Exterminatus all that effective here. I think it's more suited to an aggro deck, where you mass hard on the first planet and get your opponent to deploy to later planets to try and stop you. I've had a few situations where I've really wished I had it, but not too many.
To be honest I have been noticing that in my own deck I rarely if ever play Exterminatus. I'm getting more and more tempted to go down to 1 copy of it just in case of emergencies. Honestly, just telegraphing that I play Tau/SM might be enough to not need many copies of the card.
I can see your arguments for not including exterminatus. In my games it was very much needed. For me the question is 1 or 2 copies. And no Fire Warrior Elite? I really really like them. Soaking damage instead of a more precious sm is awesome.
Fire Warrior Elite is great in the right context, but I think it works better in a Tau deck, where it's easy to put attachments on it that make it more relevant early game. Further, my best combat unit, Honored Librarian, already has an effect that makes it difficult to attack.
I think Blood Angels Veterans is a good card, but it's somewhat redundant with Sicarius's Chosen and Honored Librarian. I don't really have room for another 3-cost SM combat unit.
hello a noob here.
So I can use non-SM cards?
The back of the "Learn to Play" book should have this information-- but basically, you can include cards from one other faction as long as they aren't loyal or signature, and each faction has a limited selection of other factions it can ally with.
I think this is a pretty solid deck and give some props to the creator
I think the threat of Exterminatus is almost as good as having the card, and you don't need the card for that.
Besides, most decks play fairly spread out anyway. I tend to leave it out myself these days
I see a counter movement in my playgroups. Most players decide to use the 1 3 5 etc. strategy. As most SM do not play exterminatus anymore, people place their units more on the different planets. But well, we will see how the first big tournaments go. I really like the deck!
