Very good command units coupled with some typical DE choke cards makes for a rough time for your opponent. Overall strategy is to control what cards get into their hand with Crucible, Oubliette, and Visions. The idea is to limit the amount of units he gets and to force him to sacrifice any units that do make it to the field.
Despise is to be used to free up Urien to command snipe a different planet or to commit to force a favorable battle. Urien also combos well with Soul Grinder for additional forced sacrifice.
Hypex is for additional synergy in Mandrakes or with a unit on Warlord train.
The list does feel a little light on units, any suggestions to expand it without changing the feel of the deck? I would also love to include a few copies of Suffering but not sure what to take out...
Sample Hand:
Total Shields: 0
Average Shields Per Event/Attachment: 0
Total Command: 0
Average Command Per Unit: 0
I assume that having 3x Archon's Palace is simply to find one and start the choke ASAP? Being unique, the other two will be wasted when/if I draw them.
Otherwise I like the suggestions, when making this deck I forgot about Syren completely! She will definitely make the deck stronger and with only 10 torture cards remaining, crucible starts to lose effectiveness so I don't see much of a problem leaving them out.
(How do I edit this deck? At the bottom of the page it says I cannot edit decks.)
There's definitely pros and cons to running any given number of Archon's Palaces, so its really about how important the choke is to the overall deckshape compared to how bad drawing a dead card would be. Consider it this way: if your opponent gets too many cheap units out, Despise and Power from Pain become ineffective cards for their cost. You might say they remain a 1:1 trades, but actually the fact that they happen after command phase mean the trade is to your opponent's benefit. For them to be strong cards, the Power From Pain needs to kill off higher costed units.

Tough one. As shrinking the size of the board is a priority for Despise / Power from pain to work well, I'd say:
+1 Archon's Palace
+2 Syren Zylthex
- 2 Crucible
- 1 Soul Seizure
This will tighten the choke, as well as strengthening your own command game.
