DE ranged/control

Have played about 12 games with a deck almost identical to this, and have a couple thoughts:

I rarely end up needing Promotion for command struggles - the deck is solid without it.  I would consider swapping them all in favor of Razorwings.

In most of the games, Altansar Rangers ended up being dead weight in my hand.  If I was going to drop 3 for a unit, I almost always preferred to drop 4 instead for Haemonculus Tormentor or Baleful Mandrake.  More resource generation might help - maybe swap promotion for Promethium Mines instead?

Hit post too quickly:

Third thought - Nullify.  In some matches, it is useless. but fantastic in others.  My opponent was playing a Chaos/Ork deck, and Nullify was able to stop a Warp Storm.  A large portion of this deck is 3 or fewer HP, so Warp Storm / Ork Kannon can really hurt.

nullify doesn't work as you need to be able to exhaust an unique ELDAR unit to play it and you can't do it with a Dark Eldar unit.

Good point on Nullify - missed that when I saw it wasn't loyal.  I guess that means at some point we may see a unique Eldar unit that is not loyal?  Such a creature does not currently exist.

Ignore my third thought.

I imagine we will see a non-loyal unique eldar at some point.  I have been considering dropping either the promotions of superiority, having both does feel like a bit of overkill.  I just wasn't sure what I wanted to remove for it.  I'll look into adding either razorwing/promethium Mine.

I have found the Altansar Rangers to be very useful.  I will agree that I would rather drop a Baleful Mandrake, but having the rangers in my deck increases the number of ranged units I can field, allowing me to kill the problematic enemies before they get a chance to swing at my squishy units.  As for the Haemonculus Tormentor, I do typically play it over the Ranger, but I don't typically play more than 1-2 of them.  So, I have found myself favoring playing the ranger over a 2nd or 3rd tormentor.  So, I'm not ready to remove those yet.

I play a deck very similar to this, but I have to ask about suffering. Did you find pillow fisting your opponent wasn't worthwhile or that they didn't do enough?

I just found that they didn't really do enough.  I rarely actually played them for their effect and always used them as shields.  While 2 shields is nice, I tend to prefer cards that I could use for either shields or the effect.

The way I see it, is it's a reverse ranged. You can throw them on a unit when you warlord snipe units holding planets for command checks and come out relatively unscathed. They're kinda always on shields.

Hmmm... I'm working on tweaking the deck a bit right now.  I'll try adding Suffering back in again.  Really, I'm starting to think even if I just consider them a blank card with shields it would still be worth including them.
