Is DE a better splash than Tau in this deck?

 

Congrats! 7th is still pretty dope.

DE ultimately seems and plays better. The ability to use gut and pillage in conjunction with bonesinger choir let's you keep up with decks that are paying less for their weenie hordes.
Archons terror is always good, albeit worse against Worr.
I tried the deck with Tau and it just seemed lacking. I had to focus so much on exhausting units to make the Drone Defense System woth it that the deck failed elsewhere...mostly in command,which Eldar should never fail at.

I just use DDS as a way to kill a large warlord train - and if their warlord train isn't large it means they didn't win 1st planet because they couldn't beat my Vipers, Wild riders, Warlocks et al.

I don't think you need to focus on exhausting things for DDS to be good.

That said, I do want to try Dark Eldar too - Gut and Pillage is obviously the new addition but there are plenty of other good picks for command too, leaving you to focus on combat with the Eldar cards.

You are absolutely right about DDS. And maybe I should have run more copies of doom with the dark Eldar version.
As the deck stands I really only have trouble with Worr and his ability to drop in troops at key battles.
More play testing and time will tell.
Also, I figured if the deck struggles with Worr per statement above, I thought it would struggle against sailor moon(morn) but I've found out she doesn't have enough Punch against big units.
And with that said...subject omega will probably be a bane but I have tested against him yet.
