Well, I tried to use the discard effect from various Necron-cards.
Get as many cards in your discard pile and use the side effects and benefits from a big and heterogenous discard pile with harbinger, anrakyr, monolith, particle whip, ressurection orb, lychguards, pyrrhians, and so on.
This Deck ends up being kind of an elite deck, because of monolith, lychguard and harbinger, and therefore backlash would be a good addition, but I don't know.
Furthermore, I think that 50+ cards shouldn't be a problem, most of your cards are going to the discard pile anyway, and some of them, not all of course, are very useful when they are in there :)
I didn't take a look to the other factions because of two reasons:
Reanimation through monolith and ressurection orb and kind fo harbinger is necronspecific, this leads to reanimation protocol and stasis crypt -> only necrons
Canoptec Spyder is for discard and healing and bullying and also only necrons
I expierienced three problems:
units are expensive so most of the time there is no strong fighting force, but very lone big hitters..
I end up, deploying various supports before doing anything else, because imho all of them are useful and necessary
Reanimation Protocol seems difficult to deploy effectively
I think, building around the discard effect, leaves you with a weak command presence, idk. But winning a planet should be easy with the big ones and support through canoptek, reanimation protocol and shielding

Additionally: I never played any tournament in conquest, nor do I have much skill. I observed and tried and used my expierience as a former (very regional)magic-tournament-player to build decks and test them, well most of the time with myself, because this f.. 500k citizen town in germany doesn't have a community - but a gamesworkshop-shop (this sounds wierd) Oo.

Before you run more than 50 cards and try justifying the fact that you can't figure out what to cut, you should try to find the best 50 cards in your deck and try running the minimum for a bit first.
