Dark Eldar Eldar
Tournament Quality
Warlord
Order by: NameTypeCost
Total Cards: 0
This is the deck i used to go 7-0 in the 2015 worlds swiss, winning best in faction for Dark Eldar and netting the faction tokens.
My match ups for the day were:
R1: Cato
I was fairly nervous about this game as i had very little practice versus Cato. My opponent played very aggressively and i was able to take advantage of that. The game ended when i doomed 15+ resources of space marines.
R2: Cato
This Cato player played much more conservatively and the only other thing i remember is that he played 0 cards on the second turn of the game.
R3: Eldorath
I was excited for 2 reasons sitting down for this match. 1. it wasn't Cato again and 2. It was Eldorath and this match up favors me. I don't remember a lot of this game either, just that i had to tell him what Archon's Palace and Khymera Den did.
R4: Space Marines (Polish Nationals Champ)
I don't recall if it was Cato or Ragnar, i did have a dreadnaught played against me this game. I used Seer's Exodus to set up a Klaivex on it the following turn.
R5: Kith (Varun, UK Nationals Champ and now World Champ)
Neither of us really had other Kith players in our local meta so we had no idea what hands to keep for the mirror match. We both ended up keeping our hands and i ended up with the upper hand. I kept 2 Murder of Razorwings and a Pact while there wasn't a lot of cards available.
I won two early planets with like symbols while he stabilized the command game. By the time the planet i needed to win came up i had a Syren to play on the initiative and even though he played 5+ units on the planet, it wasn't enough to keep me from winning.
If the game went beyond that planet i would have lost.
R6: Ragnar ( Seth, finished 2nd)
This game was close, i ate an Exterminatus on a key planet earlier and had to hope he only played one to win.
R7: Kith
Another mirror match, Syren and Solarite on the last planet finish this one out for me
Top 16: Kith
This time i had to play against Kith with Chaos, warpstorms did a lot of damage and drew the game out. If my opponent had one more 2 shield in his hand he had this game.
Top 8: Ragnar (Seth again)
I the game started close but i started losing ground and after a few key planet triggers i wasn't able to keep up.
Sample Hand:
Total Shields: 0
Average Shields Per Event/Attachment: 0
Total Command: 0
Average Command Per Unit: 0
How often do you find a situation where you want to play Seer's Exodus?
The deck seems like pretty straightforward Kith fare, but I'm a little curious about some of the inclusions (Twisted Lab, Razorwings) and omissions (3rd promotion, Bloodied Reavers).
My experience with so far with Solarite has been good, i think 1 is the correct number as i already have 4 cards that cost 4 with 3 klaivex and 1 doom, but with shield back up the Solarite can easily win planets by herself even vs enemy warlords.
The one Seer's exodus is really an emergency button for surprise drop pods/gateway/ambush/gift or when you opponent has more shields than you expected. I did not run into one of those situations at worlds but was able to snag command on a planet, deal some damage to an opposing dreadnaught to set up the next turn klaivex and get out with out being smacked back.
I have always like the disruption ability of razorwings, and they contributed to my win in the swiss over Varun, just being able to disrupt his hand when we had very little for card planets. I also think they have gotten better with the release of tyranids, their starting hand being one card smaller makes the disruption potential even higher and draws out the deploy phase even longer vs a deck that is going to deploy maybe three cards.
Twisted lab i included just as a repeatable answer to AoE/Librarians/Maxos/Bikers/Opposing Syrens & Solarites, really any army unit with an irritating ability, it also can double as protection on your sslyths if you don't want you opponent to take it.
I only play two promotions because other than the mirror match, I have never really had an issue locking down command. I don't really feel the need for 3.
In a world where almost everything swings for 2, i think reavers suffer. My primary play testing partner plays almost exclusively Ragnar which may also have something to do with not liking the reavers.

Congrats on the strong finish!
What's your impression of Solarite so far?
