Congrats on your victory!

I watched the finals live, they were a weird game indeed! But well played.

Thanks for the interesting analysis, I have to say all of it rings true to me.

I was there (playing the Morn Dark Eldar deck) and I have to say that his deck is very scary. Very well pilote too. Congratulation on your win man!

Looks like a nice deck, and congratulations on your victory! Just out of interest, if you were to try to fit in some different cards (more elites, a third gut and pillage, a Wroth, or a Visions of Agony) what are the cards that you think are most likely to get the chop? It's all looking pretty tight.

I feel vindicated now in saying 1x Frenzied Bloodthirster could be strong, back in the warpack reviews.

Congratulations!

Is Ominous Wind OP? What do you think?

I think when you have everything in Chaos Rolling it is a very Strong Deck: Elites, STC, Ominous WInd, Gut n Pillage etc..

But that can be said for every deck out there.

At the very Minimum you have to spend 5 Credits on an Elite, followed by 2 Credits for Ominous Wind letting you draw 5 then discard 4 leaving you with 6 Cards and no Credits. That is not very Strong.

(I do think being able to get Ominous Wind Back because it is a Power Card is pretty strong though, maybe that should be changed?)

OW gets stronger as longer the games goes. It also helps you to get key Cards like STC or Backlash. I think it is a very very strong card. However, I think the elite decks can be beat by attacking their economy. A well timed calculated strike helps alot.

As opposed to a poorly timed Calc. Strike? :P

What decks or deck types are the biggest challenge for this deck?

Kith with Hand destruction and power from pain. Swarm decks (also kith).

I don't think I'd play visions of agony in this deck tbh. But as far as cards I might cut:

-I have never actually played the Tzeentch's firestorm, and I think it should probably be a Warp Rift.

-Gleeful Plaguebeast is by far the worst elite in most match-ups, but it can be excellent vs Kith. If you don't expect the filed to be dominated by Kith this guy could literally be any other elite (the third possessed, the second bloodthirster, hell even a Soul Grinder would be better). I wasn't expecting too many mirrors (and was wrong) so that's why I played him. Ideally would have played the 4th bloodletter but the rules won't let me :)

-I really like Disciple of excess. The fall back should either be another elite or Disciple imo, although other people tend to value the fall back quite a lot I was always wishing it could be a backlash or disciple (at least it can shield).

-Some people I've seen go to two teleportariums. They definitely have diminshing returns but you really do want one out almost always, so it seems like you should have a good reason for cutting them.

-The Prince's Might looks borderline broken on paper but I've always found it to be incredibly underwhelming. That being said, we only have 4 two shield cards as is so cutting even more of them for non two shield cards might be more of an experiment than a good call.

I honestly think that 13 elites is the way to go with this deck, as opposed to the 12 I played. If you are going to play twelve you probably shouldn't play the gleeful plague beast either.

If you expect lots of mirrors + Kith Vha'shaelhur (in this kind of shell) could be interesting, since he sweeps tokens quite well and his signature unit is very good (ability does not trigger backlash). He's a much weaker planet bully, however, and the lack of fetid haze is also sad for long games.

I don't know if ominous wind is 'broken' but is certainly very powerful and enables very different decks to be powerful. I think it could be a lot more fair if more answers to elites existed across different factions but as it stands the game died before that distribution could be done more evenly. It is probably a mistake to end the game here where certain factions could be boxed out of the meta, but FFG didn't have a choice.

Those are my thoughts. Sorry I didn't reply promptly I don't come on here too often :/
