Welcome to the game Hammerguard! Nice deck. You'er definitely going hard on the Drop Pod approach, which has been viable since the game's inception. Here are my comments and suggestions:
Economy
While you don't always have to deckbuild this way, I suggest you take a look at how you plan to fund your many 3+ cost units. With only 6x 1-for-1s (the units that cost 1 resource and have 1 command hammer) you might get strapped for resources/outmaneuvered command-wise sooner than you'd like. 2-for-2 units are valuable as well, but here you'd have to look elsewhere than the Marines for those. (Both Astra and Tau has them, so consider having an ally.)
If you are looking to lower the cost of your units otherwise I recommend you include some Righteous Initiates; they work well with Mavros and spike damage and they also fit in a Drop Pod, so to speak. I'd probably take 2x of these over 1x Bikers and 1x Maxos.
Events
I recommend you always include 3x Indomitable when fielding a high SM unit count. This is a power card beyond most others.
Exterminatus is a great card that might win you games, but bear in mind that it is quite expensive as well. Experienced players will usually try and play around it by not stacking up on non-first planets until it's safe; I would cut it down to a 1x.
Currently the game is moving towards a much more Elite oriented playstyle as standard, so you might want to consider a few more Elites gradually. The Deathwing Guards are nice, but perhaps there are other Elites in the SM cardpool you'd want to try as well for the same cost, e.g. Land Raider or Firedrake Terminators.
Good luck in the Traxis Sector
Hi Skynight, many thanks for your reply and your advice.
I was a bit concerned about the "mana curve" when I started looking at the stats that the deck generated and will definitely look at including some lower cost cards.
I had initially included some Righteous Initiates but took them out for some reason, I honestly can't remember why, so I'll look at following your advice there and cutting the Exterminatus down to 1 to bring 3 x Indomitable into the deck.
I'm going to a small tournament on Saturday, so I'll see how well I get on there.
Once again, many thanks for your thoughts, they're much appreciated.
On top of what Skyknight said I would recommend the Apprentice for a 1/1. And if playing any Elites a synergising Elite would be the Swordbrethren .
Other than that the deck looks solid so far
Good luck
Thanks for the advice.
I've updated the deck but for some reason I can't edit it. I've included another Indomitable and 2 x Righteous Initiates in place of 1 x Maxos, 1 x White Scars Bikers and 1 x Exterminatus.
I've decided to stay with the Deathwing Guard at the moment, simply because of the 2/9 Attack/Defence at a 5 Resource cost.
I'm going to run it this weekend, so I'll post how I get on with it.
Once again, thanks.
