The Nurgles are coming! The Nurgles are coming! And they are spoiling for a feverish fight.
Warlord
Order by: NameTypeCost
Total Cards: 0
The deck is designed to win command struggles where you acquire enough resources and cards to power your events and get the planets you want.
The deck's 6 nukes (2 each of Cacophonic Choir, Warpstorm and Nurgling Bomb) offer consistently harsh events with enough variety to address differing situations.
The flexibility of attack options improves with the nurgles, nurgle attachments, vile laboratory, and gurgle events. Blight Grenades is a great deploy (make it your last deploy action in a phase where you will have initiative) that transforms any of your 10 eligible nurgling army units into a fearsome AE 2 foe. Works best on Death Guard Infantry.
Xavaes is there for command, to thwart Archons Terror, and gives a slight synergistic boost to lower daemon deploying costs when he generates a Cultist.
The deck keeps foes off balance. Play Cacophonic Choir at the end of the Deploy Phase to upset a swarm. Vile Laboratory just pulls units off the first planet. Ecstatic Seizures and Archon's Terror are perfect tools to tip the scales at any planet. And Blight Grenades is just awesome (see above).
V2: Increased command icons, increased cost -3 Splintered Path Acolytes +2 Xaveas Split-Tongue +1 Ancient Keeper of Secrets
V3: Won a local store championship in Maryland with this deck going against Cato, another Ku'gath and Old One Eye.
Goal with change is to lower cost and increase command consistency: -1 Ancient Keeper of Secrets -1 Archon's Terror +1 Promotion +1 Murder Cogitator
May drop the Murder Cogitator for Incubus Warrior for a bump in command struggles.
Mulligan Tactic: I generally mulligan if my first draw does contain any of the following: - Slaneesh's Temptation - Plaguefather's Banner - Three low cost units that can be deployed first round. - Vile Laboratory
Sample Hand:
Total Shields: 0
Average Shields Per Event/Attachment: 0
Total Command: 0
Average Command Per Unit: 0
Was sceptical, but pulling random hands had to go through six of them before I saw one that I wouldn't be happy to play. Very nice style, nice innovative build.
Congrats especially on making Blight Grenades an effective card!
