Spyros is a great player ( and i feel lucky that i dodgde him during the regionals
) and this is the second time (first being the europian championship ) that he proves OOE piloted by him is a solid warlord !
Nice results! I think Biomass sacriface is a card that should be considered in this archtype.
There where like 3-4 times during the tournament that i made the exact same thought mate!!
I will continue testing and maybe find space for 1-2 biomass
Great job man, really like the deck
Thanks mate i really hope people will start playing Old One Eye and Tyranids in general more in the competitive scene
Thanks mate!! Well you see no harpy in the deck mostly because i need to keep the mana curve to max 5. Ymgarl with No mercy or HVC means dead enemy WL most of the times something that harpy can't do. 6 resource + infested planet is way too much dependencies,Don't forget that you wont always have STC and you need to be able to drop some big monsters on the field.
Now about kith, the match up is 50% 50%. In the final i drew like ****, and i mean like ****!!Even when my opponent did some mistakes and gave me an opportunity to fight back, i believe that the game was lost in the first 2 rounds. Kith is a strong WL and needs strong players. I could have won the trophy but even with second place i feel happy about my tyranids!!
A follow-up note about this: as elite decks grow in popularity, Harpy's popularity is likely to wane. It's an absolutely vicious card against swarm decks, but the infestation requirement means that your cardpool is highly constrained if you want to play a deck focused on elites; and Harpy-as-solo-elite vs. elite deck == lost games. My regionals deck was a Harpy build (3x Harpy as only elite supported by the standard cadre of Tyranid units), and although I was able to consistently land Harpy at key planets with infestation, as soon as a couple elites hit the opponent's side it just didn't matter (and this was just after the Legions release, so elite decks were still rare). If the deck already leveraged infestation for Digestion Pool, then it would probably be worth 1-2 Harpies in case of swarms, but as-is I agree with Desseas that he's better off without. 6 resources on a discounted Ymgarl or Ravener with attached HVC is a far better investment than 7 resources for an HVC on a Harpy, since the prior two elites' abilities are more generically useful (Ymgarl + HVC can one-shot almost anything; Ravener + HVC can chew through entire armies in a single combat round; Harpy + HVC can do serious work, but is more costly and even vs. swarms can sometimes fail you if the other side has good ways to get units or tokens into play at action speed).
Hey Caldera, you see that Synapse creature? Lictor, not Venomthrope.
That's why he came 2nd at his regional and you came 3rd!
What's that? Where did I place?
Uh, let's change the subject.
As far as Synapses go Liktor is THE only choice. It is the reason why Tyranids can play atm.
Hi Prezi,
I'm coming back to Conquest after a 6 month hiatus and would like to hear your reasoning for including Biomass Sacrifice. Thanks!
Well his thought is good since biomass has great synergy with the mechanics of the deck. It can surprise boost your resources to use them on factor or to play a dark cunning of even at deploy phase to be able to play an elite with HVC. The problem with biomass is that it is a bad card. At minimum discard you loose 2 cards and gain 1 resource. Biomass is a great example of how poor is the tyranids card design. DE get 3 resources for winning a red planet, while tyranids get 3 resources for 4 cards.... Thank you FFG.
where'd the lictor go
As i said on the comment i am using polluter now.
burst forth + polluter offers some very interesting plays
The advantage with Biomass Sacrifice over GnP is that it is action speed which is crucial to win a battle.
Tyranids play a better command game than most of the other factions, so it is often that you have your hand
full of cards that you can dump into resources at the right time.
I really like the Polluter <-> Burst Forth Shenanigans
Excellent Deck, very different from the standard Kith, Cato, etc. Do you think you can make great builds using the other Tyranid Warlords?
Well basically the deep strike is a threat on planets you won't commit or deploy anything
If there is a planet that has a good trigger. It is true you loose your initiative due to timing but most of the time you will be sending your polluter along with an elite.
The thing is now you can create a WL train and still threaten multiple planets.Dark cunning and our signature support make sure you can ready your units when it is needed.
As i wrote at first it's not the golden key to victory but it sure opens possibilities.
Do you find you wish you had Volatile Pyrovores sometimes, since you've taken them out? I think I remember you having 26 army units and Pyrovores were in there x2.
And also, how is your command without Lichtor and -3x Termagant Sentry?
Was Sudden Adaptation quite playable when you had it? I found I couldn't really use it too well, maybe unlucky that I didn't have another elite in my hand when the other one was getting hit.
Well with this deck list your main target is to play elites.
Command is kinda strange since you usually deploy an elite somewhere then commit your WL there and pull the elite somewhere else with your synapce.
This way usually you win 2/5 command unless the opponent WL finds your synapse, in that case usually you win a planet trigger.
Pyrovores are great but not in this deck.
This deck aims to ultra buff elites and multi attack with dark cunning.
Adaptation is good when you don't play with attachments.
Plus there are sometimes that you get a resource back from an infested planet with cunning.
There is so much testing yet to be done.
To tell you the truth i am also not feeling comfortable with so low unit count but i noticed in all my games that the only thing i wanted to play was elites and attachments to win, nothing else!
