So, I tested a slightly different version of this deck (don't have Sowing Chaos yet, didn't feel like pulling Ammo Depots out of another deck - and yes, this deck definitely could use some Ammo Depots), and it actually worked surprisingly well. Will never be truly competitive, but as shocked as I was that some people reported success with the Ku'gath deck with 13 units, I was equally shocked that this deck held its own against a pretty good Kith deck. If I had drawn a Warp Storm on the last turn, it might have won me the game.
I tried building it with Zogwort, but it didn't end up making much sense to me. Flash Gits are better than Runtherds, and Bigga is Betta is the only thing Orks have that's close to Promise of Glory for alternate resources (well, they could use Promise of Glory, but not for much point - well, unless I wanted to use Possessed instead of Goff Nob - hmm... they DO have a hammer... interesting idea...). There's always Promethium Mine, but I haven't come around on that, yet - plus already 6 supports. And Cybork Body is pretty sweet on the Goff Nob. Even the sig support, I feel like Nazdreg's works better for this deck than Zogwort's.
The one thing that I think Zoggy really has going for him is Launch da Snots, and single big hits are not the thing missing from this deck. Would love to see a Zogwort version if you have one, though. You're probably seeing something I'm missing.
I almost convinced myself to switch out the Goff Nobs for Possessed (and add in Promise of Glory), but Tellyporta Pad only works on Orks, so I don't think it's quite worth it.
i love the idea of the deck as i am a big fan of the kuggath version. What about adding the neutral Inquisitor in it? I know he's no ork but he's very good in an elite/calamity deck
Inquisitor is probably a reasonable choice for this deck, but I'm not sure it fits the way I play it. He's kind of in the middle cost-wise - the Nobs and Battlewagon are huge and expensive and worth the cost because they're combat monsters where all of my tricks play with them. Wroth is pretty solid, but I'm not sure I can afford him in addition to the expensive combat monsters and wouldn't want to play him INSTEAD of either of them.
That said, I'm pretty sure there's a reasonable version of this deck that would use Caius Wroth, and it might even be better than this version.
Also to mention some of the recent changes:
Chaos Fanatics out, Bad Dok in. Sorry, not sure why other people are down on the Dok, but an extra 2 HP's compared to the Fanatics, ability to work with Orky stuff a little better, and really it's not THAT tough to activate his 4 command hammers. Even if you don't, he's an Enraged Ork that is already enraged 1 point. Instead of printed Brutal (which certainly isn't redundant on the Enraged Ork, of course), he has "command phase brutal". I mean, I wouldn't take Enraged Orks out for Doks, but I would take out almost any other 2 coster available. I suppose there's a case to be made for Snakebites.
Made Ta Fight out, Lucky Warpaint in - not sold on the Warpaint, but Made Ta Fight felt too expensive and restrictive to get much use out of.
Nurgling Bomb out (for going up to 3x on Doombolt and... Promotion I think?) - I like Nurgling Bomb in this deck, and it might go back in at some point, but I don't often have the resources to use it, and given the choice, I'd usually rather use them on Sowing Chaos or Warpstorm. Doombolt is only okay, but at least at 1 resource, more likely to get played as an event instead of shields.
