Taking pleasure from pain

I've been looking at a similar deck, however have had minimal play testing opportunities so far.

None the less a few observations

1) I've also gone with Fanatics > Destructor as the deck needs to win Command to fuel its engine. However I do wonder if a 1st planet Destructor doesn't pack such a punch that it might be the better option.

2) I agree super-janky hypex is a trap, however I don't see the problem with building a deck like you have and then chucking in 1-2 hypex to give Mandrake some serious scare power. Would likely be at the expense of Promotion, which leads us back to the command issue, but I really think it's a viable option.

3) Wondering what your thoughts were on leaving Bloodied Reavers out, especially given you specifically mention a concern with lack of cheap combat units.

4) No Syren Zythlex?

1) I keep going back and forth between fanatics and destructors.  Right now, I feel the command presence is too important.

2) I had hypex in there with Mandrakes.  It made them more useful, but I still felt promotion improved the deck more than hypex did.

3) Bloodied Reavers are on my list of units to consider, I could remove Searing Brand for them.  The biggest reason I went with Sybarite Marksman over reavers is because I was removing Murder of Razorwings.  I didn't want to trade a 1 cost with a 2 cost.

4) No, I've gone back and forth on Syren.  I normally include her in my DE decks, but I don't know what I would remove for her at the moment.  If I decide to scale back on uber grotesque or Warleader she will probably make an appearance.
