Tau Eldar
Control Tournament Quality
By using the warlords ability, you gain two resources a turn if used correctly. allowing you to focus on getting units on the board.
Warlord
Order by: NameTypeCost
Total Cards: 0
In the opening hand you are looking for at least two cards that cost under two and have at least one command Icon. In an Ideal world you shouldn't care about the 1st planet and focus getting units on the 4th or 5th planet, so you can build up a bigger hand. Allowing you to take control of the 2nd or 3rd planet.
This is the start of your control momentum, by having small units on the later planets you are making it hard for your opponent to claim extra cards or resources.
Now is where you pick fights you want to win. By placing ranged units on worlds and bringing in heavy hitters. Not letting you opponent get hits on your units is key, and to keep them second guessing where attachments are going to be via the use of "Ambush platform" and "Even the odds".
The best application for "Even the odds" is by using a "Vior'la Marksmen" and "Gun Drones" and having at least one other ranged unit in play at the the same planet. Meaning you can Use the "gun drones" ability twice with two different units. Which in most cases, cleans house.
Sample Hand:
Total Shields: 0
Average Shields Per Event/Attachment: 0
Total Command: 0
Average Command Per Unit: 0
^So uh... are you arguing against including what's probably one of the best command units out there? "Sniped by Chosen" usually means you discard a shield and still take some resources from the new planet whereas they spend 3 resources.
The 55 cards bug me. If I were to cut it down to a more convenient 51 card package it would be thus:
-2x Devilfish - not a lot of synergy with Shadowsun.
-1x Survivalist - 3x very often feels like overkill, especially when there's void pirates around.
-1x Stingwing Swarm - a bit on the expensive side - this also allows to keep the cost curve even after Devilfish is gone.
I often think that Even the Odds and Ambush Platform is slightly redundant in one deck, so there's an alternative to making some cuts.
3 of for Recon Drones is a must in Shadowsun decks. It is too good to pass up. Not running 1 card because 1 card in 1 faction can counter it. That is a poor argument at best.

The 55 card deck has never been a problem with this, I'm controlling the planets enough that I'm holding pretty much half my deck in hand and my answers.
Even the odds is amazing when used with gun drones and ranged units. You basically get to use the attachment again! move it to a ready unit and fire away. Ambush platform means you can play an attachment from your hand for free! You don't even have to have shadow sun moving to the same planet.
Thanks, this is the deck I have been trying to build, but never found the right amount of cards for it. Any thoughts on taking out 3 cards and adding the Aun'ui Prelate?

Knee-jerk reaction review:
You need to cut 5 cards. Run 50 cards at all times. Unless they come up with an insane draw engine in the future, play 50. I think you should cut:
1x Frontline Launch Bay
1x Doom
1x Stingwing Swarm
1x Fire Warrior Elite
Then either a Doom, a Fire Warrior Elite, or a Crisis Battle Guard. I would probably pick the Fire Warrior Elite.
Otherwise, at first glance, looks like it would win a lot of command struggles. And command struggles win the game. So looks good!
I always find myself drawing loads of cards in this game. I felt 55 was a safe number to stop adding cards and it paid off.
3 recon drones? It is limited and can be sniped by Choosen.
good job
