I appreciate the 1-core-set-only sentiment. Looking up decks when you only have 1 core set is a pain.
I know you only have one core my advice for now:
eldar survivalist, run both of them. Grab your dark eldar. Take your 2 resource incubus warrior, put him in here. Maybe a vile raider too for more mobile. Take out the tau stuff. also put in archons terror. one of the best cards so far. (when that heldrake comes screaming into play one day and you make him leave and go home, it will put a smile on your face.
If you get more than one starter:
First, run 3 Biel Tan guardians as they are sick sick sick. 1 resource for a unit with 2 hammers? that's how you start starving your opponent of resources and redirecting his warlord away from other battles.
Black guardians. I initially liked them until I realise how important hammers is for earning resources. Unless on the first planet fighting...I dislike them. I would run 2 at most.
Piranha hunter. Again, no hammers. You are going to get choked.
vectored vipers, replace with 3 soaring falcons.
corsair trading post. At least 2. It is a free card basically, you place it, then you can see what your opponent does AND it will help you later in the game.
