Interesting take on the theme. Blight Grenades are a curious choice given that the Plague Beasts can't use them. Is the intention to hold onto a copy of them + nurglings until the opportune moment to play both in a turn, resulting in a potential 2-3 AoE hit? Feels like a nice tactic but I worry that it's too luck dependent to pull off frequently.
Have you taken this to any tournaments or events?
Kaloo- There is real diminishing returns in the events section when you are running 30ish of them. The blight grenedes aren't good but they aren't awful either and they still have a shield. You rarely hold anything in this deck and chuck them for shields. But they have won games as well. Yes nurglings are the only eligible unit but another way of looking at the is they can be attached to 31% of the units in the deck.
But give chaos another good event or two and they are out. (despise, doombolt, grenedes, seizures, all are subject for removal)
Fighting- Resources are good to stop, but the real threat is it will just bully planets for the win, so you need to watch for that. Also defend Tarrus at almost all cost.
I've played my own version of this deck for quite the many games. Glad to see other people using variants too!
I gotta say that I have not once regretted having 3xColiseum FIghters in the deck. Fetching back Fetid Haze, Archon's Terror or Warpstorm has been a lifesaver every time I've gotten to use it. Also sometimes when I have wanted to have some deploy stall to see how heavily the opponent will commit to the 1st planet, I've gone Promise of Glory -> Coliseum Fighters-> Promise of Glory. That's essentially 2R gain (same with only one Promise), but also a three card deploy stall.
Other than that for me the main philosophy of the deck is to punish the hell out of your opponents weenie-command-cappers, so Calamity at 3x has and will be a staple for me. When Sowing Chaos came I was peeing honey due to the awesomenness of that card in this deck.
I played a quite seasoned Kith on OCTGN for three games in a row and I have to tell you it felt like an easy match-up for this deck. Kith wants to choke you, he has Archon's Terror and Klaivex Warleader. All of that doesn't matter that much when playing this monstority!
I do have to say that my last game with the deck was against Kingsley's Shadowsun where I was crushed so bad that I'm embarrassed to play against him ever again
It was due to a mediocre staring hand and a stupid risk, when I went to the first planet against his Shi'O Res (or how do you spell it?). He came there with Shadowsun granting the Pathfinder a Cadre attahment. No use out of Archon's Terror there and I got bloodied first turn. I tried to use Tzeentzh's Firestorm for 5 and afterwards giving it a Dire Mutation, but it was all a waste with heavy shielding. Stupid play by me none the less!
I prefer good cards in my decks.
And frankly there are now enough of them that the bad cards just don't get a place anymore.
