This stuff is still looking super impressive.

I know this is a labor of love and you have some way to go.

Whats the chance of an android app that doesn't need to be online coming out of this?

Thanks :)

I hadn't considered an offline version. Maybe it's something I can swing. Right now I'm focused on coding the website extensions that I have planned and then need to optimize the code.

Update on site - the site has been open up to the Skype group and players in the BCL league as a soft launch. During this time I am analyzing the hosting impact. In the event that this forum is closed end of day please check the Facebook group for updates on the builder. I expect a full site launch in the next week or two, assuming I don't see anything too financially concerning regarding hosting costs.

Today I will showcase site functionality for tagging decks to media. Currently I support Youtube media. I may expand, but Youtube has the benefit of being free and also should hopefully prevent jerks from posting inappropriate content :)

Media Tab
When you are logged into the site you will see the media tab in your Deckbox page. Clicking the tab will expand out the media page where you can link a deck to a video recording of that deck being played:

irIXvrX.png

Media Modal
Once linked, you can play the video from this tab by selecting the play button. This will generate the video in a pop up.

rvQZQdO.png

Public Deck View
People don't have access to your media tab. But when they view your public deck they will see a list of all videos tagged to that deck. These should be videos that feature this deck being played.

This is a view of the public deck page in mobile layout

C1f38Hg.png

Media Page
The media page will contain a list of all media linked to decks in the site. Here you can watch all tagged media in ONE spot. Currently only Youtube is supported but I can easily expand this to podcasts, etc. I will also curate a few videos that are good introductions to new players. I know Hive Tyrant has a good selection. Currently the video that plays when you first access page is a Conquest 'how to play' tutorial.

For those <10 people still not on facebook in this world, have you thought of a name for your site yet? -So that those unfortunate individuals, if they still exist[cough], may google it in a few weeks time? :)

Maybe Dan's Deckbuilder, or The Conquest Project, or Pure Awesomeness etc...

I'm in the BCL. I didn't see any link for this site. I'd definitely want to try out.

Ok. I read over this a bit more. I had a question and a suggestion.

I don't understand how I'm supposed to read the Command and Combat lines in the deck summary.

One super small nitpick is the view of cards while deckbuilding. I miss the options that conquestdb has.

Finally how much money would I have to throw at you to make a jinteki.net for Conquest?

The deck stats I agree need more work to make them clear.  I have plans to adjust these and add tool tips to help clarify.  But the idea is that command and combat refer to the army card unit roles.  A command unit is any unit where the command hammer count is >= the card cost and where the card cost is <= 2.  Combat is everything else that is an army unit.  I understand that some cards cross over and blur this definition (e.g. Iron Hands Techmarine), but the stats are rough anyway because they don't account for card abilities.  I make this distinction because I don't find ATK or HP stats meaningful when they are diluted by my command units and I don't find my command stats meaningful when it includes combat units. I did get a request from a member for total command icons, to help support elite builds that break the command/combat mold, so I'll be adding that

I have noted your request to create an optional view in the deckbuilder to show the card image a la conquestdb.  The site has a beta page tracking coming enhancements so I'll put this on that list today.  I believe the view that is missing that conquestdb has (that site has various options for how many images show per row but I'll likely just narrow down to one option because cards per row is more a function of screensize and responsive design would handle.

Money for jinteki - once I get through all the functionality I am planning and go back through site to optimize it I can look at this.  Seeing that you mention money, I'll take the opportunity to say that I will be setting up a patreon page to help with covering the hosting and domain costs of the site ;)

Great!

I'm happy to help support someone putting so much effort into keeping this awesome game alive!

I know that there aren't any new cards coming from FFG, but who needs them! Various fan expansions look good.

I know that there are plenty of Warlords and decks I never played, and would still like to.

Some additional functionality that I haven't yet featured:

Deck Import
Aside from being able to clone other member's decks and your own from within the site, you can also import decks.
Site supports import of decks from OCTGN file or from a text file like that which comes out of cardgamedb (e.g. 3x Earth Caste Technician).

iu3uGuN.png

Card Rating
You can rate and review cards. Aside from being public, this synchs with your profile setting, allowing you to filter out from the deckbuilder cards that you have rated low.

cOchqZN.png

Session Reports
You can tie session reports to decks. This allows you to do a write up about how your deck performed following a tournament or league. For example, I am maintaining a session report for the deck that I am playing in the Black Crusade league.

cT4ybow.png

Session reports once entered will show if the linked deck is public (they won't show if deck is private or if they aren't linked to a deck). People can read your session reports from within the deck view

Wow, now that's impressive! I love the numerous search and filter options! 'Currently Testing' and 'Cut Options' are great ideas too. Excellent work! Pro deckbuilder indeed :)

And the 'Media' feature is just awesome :D

Deckbuilder looks great! A good many features, your work is much appreciated - is there / will there be an option for 1 core set rather than default to 3 of each card for those that are x1 / x2 in the core?

Thanks!

For your question - yes. And thank you for reminding me. In my rush to get the deckbuilder out I put some features aside for the future and this was one that I set aside then forgot about. The data is there to support the functionality I just need to implement the code. I'll add that to the short list of coming enhancements.

I have added a toggle for viewing cards in deckbuilder. So now you can choose cards or a list as a view. I also took a stab at making the deck summary (Combat/command stats) more clear.

Will you add fan-made cards to deckbuilder?

Yes! Site hosts fan-made cards. Once you create an account you can add the packs that you want through your profile page.

See the thread started for the live site where this is further discussed here: http://www.cardgamed...raxissectorcom/

Also, policy for hosting fan-made cards is here: http://traxissector....n/help/fanmade/

This functionality has been implemented. Your profile will default to 3 core and 1 of every legacy set. You can modify this in your profile and save to what you actually own. The deckbuilder will then only show counts for what you own (you still can unclick the 'star' filter to get back to 3 of everything)

Hmm. There is a check. I'll see why its not working. Thanks for letting me know. Given that this effects other people please delete your comment. For issues in future I can be contacted via email on site or through this site.

Thanks
