So, assuming I have at least one cultist to sacrifice to begin with, can I wipe an entire board of cultists from my opponent, sacrificing each one to take control of the next ?

Yes, provided they all have skill 2 or lower.  You won't be able to take control of the bigger ones.

Thanks a lot for the prompt answer - yes, skill 2 or less was implied. Also I noticed that skill reduction tricks won't help since it say printed skill, sadly...

Another of my favorite uses of Harbinger is to sac the stolen character to The Three Bells after story phase is over. This way, opponent never gets it back and loses another char... nasty :) Can't wait for the Hastur Deluxe to come out and finally do justice to this great faction !

I wish there was a card that said, "All characters in play gain the Cultist subtype."  Sacrifice my own Cultist to gain control of my opponent's Cultist; sacrifice him to gain control of another; sacrifice him to...
