An effectively mono-Yog Stall & Mill deck strategy.

his deck counts on bouncing the opponents characters back into their hand or forcing them to sacrifice early or after you hit them with a Curse of the Stone. This allows the primary deck strategy that most decks follow to achieve victory to be utilized by Yog Sothoth while he attempts his secondary win condition that most decks do not enjoy which is to grind away the opponent's deck into oblivion.

If Bounce and Sacrifice mechanics fail to arrive on time or be effective, then the Conspiracy Theorist arrives to warn all of the impending doom heralded by conspiracies unheeded. This red herring stall will often work since Conspiracy cards are not frequently used in competitive decks and most decks cannot win 8 or more stories without depleting their own decks without any help from you. It's a gamble, but can sometimes be effective.

Now you just have to keep the Theorist alive long enough for Yog Sothoth to obliterate the opponent's chance to draw 2 cards at the beginning of their turn.

A small amount of recursion is possible with the aptly named Speak with the Dead, Opening the Limbo Gate and Yog Sothoth himself, the key targets of the recursion being (but not limited to) the Curse of the Stone and A Single Glimpse and of course high cost characters. Paying 4 to bring out Yog Sothoth with the limbo gate and then paying 2 to play that very same card to get out a heavy hitter is a great combo to get a two-for-the-cost-of-yog deal.

Some sneakiness may be instituted by resourcing large nasty creatures as the Tcho Tcho Tribe and Flying Polyps into Domains to be brought back from this limbo by the Evolving Shoggoth which is a bit more efficient than the typically used Twilight Gate. Don't be shy about bringing back a well timed Faceless Abductor or Hermetic Scholar either.

A decent casual deck in my opinion for exploring the alternate win condition of decking your opponent. (And if you can swing it, get a third copy of Terrors in the Dark)

The deck list has been revised to show what I took to the 2011 FFG event center regional championships.

For those curious, there were three players in attendance and its score is 1-5 against hardcore removal/control.

It just cannot consistently compete against such.
