Deck Name: | Silver Twilight ritual of Glaaki |
Deck Strategy: | This is my first try at using Silver Twilight in a deck. It is a faction that never seemed to click for me, but I think this one is pretty good. |
Deck Contents: | Total Cards (50) Story (0) Character (32) Faceless Abductor (TOotST) x3 Doppelganger (TWB) x3 Glaaki (AoA) x2 Servants of Glaaki (AoA) x3 Carl Stanford (SoK) x3 Magical Theorist (TUP) x3 B. Ramsdale Brown (TKatG) x3 Lord Jeffrey Farrington (TOotST) x3 Guardian of Dawn (TiV) x3 Sarah Van Shaw (WoP) x3 Zanni (TiV) x3 Support (10) Rite of the Silver Gate (TKatG) x3 Hermetic Seal (TiV) x3 The Doorway (TBJ) x2 T'tka Halot (WaB) x2 Event (8) Initiation of Glaaki (AoA) x3 Casting off the Skin (WitD) x2 Pulled from the Beyond (TUP) x1 Steal the Soul (TOotST) x2 Conspiracy (0) This is my first try at using Silver Twilight in a deck. It is a faction that never seemed to click for me, but I think this one is pretty good. From Yog I simply selected to play doppelganger as that might be fun and Glaaki seems fun as well. Obvious dis-synergy first: I know Carl Standford isn't the best friends with Servants of Glaaki and Glaaki. But I figure Carl is smart enough not to attend the summoning ritual of Glaaki itself (i.e. you bounce him when you're going to play Glaaki, preferably with the doorway). Otherwise some nice natural synergies between Yog-sothoth and the silver twilight: rituals and spells. T'tka Halot is also a good card and fun with Sarah van Shaw. Hermetic seal is a good card. This deck doesn't rely too much on day, but having a recurring day card can be a good way to control night decks. Also makes guardian of dawn a very good lodge character. Getting a bonus from day and Sarah van Shaw will probably not happen often, but having a 1 cost character that can potentially have 2 skulls, 2 books and an investigative icon ... It should be easy enough to get one of those bonuses on her. Maybe a little high on the 3-cost and I probably need more 1 and 2 cost characters. Not sure what to cut though or change though. |

Good idea. I didn't think of him as he's in another deck (and I don't like to proxy). But it might be fun with Faceless Abductor, and Lord Jeffrey shenanigans. Even with Initiation of Glaaki / Ramsdale Brown. Expensive, but fun.
Hermetic Seal is absolutely a fantastic card, a little 'broken' for my tastes, and should be in any Silver Twilight deck. A card that is indestructable to non night cards, is not unique, costs 1, stops 'enters play' effects, and returns to the hand if it does so. Yes please ! I'll have 3 !!
I've pretty much abandoned having more than 4 or 5 cards in a deck that have 'enters play' abilities based on the strength and overuse this card will receive. They might as well un-restrict Museum Curator because he's just been shafted anyway. Haha.
Well done on the deck and have lots of fun refining it and building the next one !!
- 1 Carl Stanford
- 1 Lord Jeffrey Farrington
- 1 Sarah Van Shaw
- 1 Pulled from the beyond
+ 3 Professor Nathaniel Peaslee
+2 Pushed into the beyond
At 51 cards now. Maybe I should cut a Ramsdale Brown as well...
Yes, it would a change to the deck. I still like it though, so might give it a try.

Removed Carl Stanford as with Salvator Neri we're making the summoning of Glaaki a higher priority. I also removed Faceless Abductor and Zanni to make room for Ol' Lazy eyes and keeper of the silver sphere (lodge for Sarah and T'tka Halot).
Not sure if the machination is the best conspiracy in this deck though...
I'll need to see how both of these play. Most of my decks are now conspiracy decks though, so I'll need to print some Ol'lazy eyes ;-)
Might be easier to play Seeker of Mysteries instead of Neri, but Neri seems more fun.
Just a word of warning about Sarah Van Shaw as well, from some unpleasant experiences. It can be a bit dangerous banking on her gifted icons when going in to stories so just be careful around undrained Domains. A clever opponent might wait for you to do so and then remove Sarah after you've committed, leaving the other Lodge Characters with their robes around their ankles.
Yeah, that is one of the reasons I have The Doorway in the deck. Might not be enough though. I even thought about removing the doorway in the Neri-conspiracy build. Maybe it's best to remove them and keep Faceless Abductor in the deck?
Fleeting Guise is another good option, and I've already thought about it. Might be good in the first build as well, turning Carl into a temporary servant of glaaki ;-) . It just seems expensive though, and I don't want the deck to rely on getting Glaaki out (using too many cards to be able to play the one unique card). It should still function even if I don't draw Glaaki.
I prefer many angled thing as well, but the 3-cost slot is crowded and I use him in a different deck.
With Josef Meiger, I will probably cut Initiations of Glaaki for cursed skull. So maybe Eidolon is a good way of getting the servants back when needed.
