Investigator Deck: The Agency/Syndicate A decklist by James Hata The main purpose of this deck is to rush and win stories by overwhelming the opponent with pure numbers. In order to achieve this, the deck is packed with not only a fair amount of investigation icons, but also everything in this deck has a printed cost of 2 or lower! Because you will only have to resource once (maybe twice) over the course of the game, this deck allows you to maximize the use of cards in your hand. By combining low cost characters with events like Intimidate or Small Price to Pay, this deck is able to completely dominate the field in the first few turns of the game. However, just because this deck is focused on rushing does not mean that it does not have its fair amount of tricks. There are plenty of combos to take advantage of the cards in this deck, and even ways to win if the initial rush is not enough. Paul Lemond is an excellent card that provides a great ability to copy the icons of another character in play by paying 1. When this ability is combined with Eldritch Nexus, Paul is able to be a constant threat while not tying up your ability to play cards from your hand. There are also several different skill manipulation tricks in this deck. Using Clover Club Torch Singer or Clover Club Bouncer to lower your opponent's characters' skill at a story, and then putting down a Parallel Universe before committing your characters is a great way to mess up your opponents strategy. Fugitive Scientist is also a great card to combine with Parallel Universe when you are facing a deck that does not use much investigation. Between these tricks and abilities like Dutch Courage and Expendable Muscle to supplement your characters, this deck can definitely play into the long game if it has to. |
