Who likes paying 1g for pyromancers cache?

I guess the problem is the chance to draw this one before you draw on of your three pyromancer's caches. The card is too not good enough to run it multiple times. : /

I dunno, it's 0 cost, so 2-3 copies helps setup (nothing stops you from playing duplicates during setup, you just have to pay for them, which doesn't matter for this).

If your playing this in house, then targ has a lot of allies. You could just as easily play Tyrosh which makes Cache a 2 cost until you draw this card. Then cache becomes a 0 cost.

No, not really. The rules don't allow for dupes to be played during setup.

I could have sworn I heard otherwise, but the errata does indeed specifically disallow duplicates on setup.

What errata? I'm pretty certain that has been in the core rule book from the get go.

There was a lot of talk about the ability to put a dupe of a HoD location out during setup when House of Dreams first came out, but eventually it was ruled against. Maybe that's what you're thinking of Arzoo?

It is at least covered in the FAQ under duplicates.

Depending on the matchup, this could combo's nicely with Magister Illyrio (CbtC).

I'd love to get a Milk of the Poppy (Core) or Bastard (LotR) from my opponent to use against him. That's almost as fun as Doran's Game (GotC).
