Best card in the pack - a major boon for Lannister gold-dominance with Tywin and Littlefinger. Potential for three power a turn!
You don't mean the 5-gold ally Littlefinger (Core)? Nevertheless I agree - pretty great card, works well with Joffrey Baratheon (PotS) too.

I'd rather spend my 2 gold on a character and win some challenges.

They can defend challenges; with this you could win by just playing enough to stall them/generate gold while you buy the throne.
I can see this getting a lot of use in Lanni KotHH. I've always found that I would be sitting on way too much influence pretty quickly, and getting yourself into a heavy gold position is easy with the right build. I can see 2-3 shots from Joff every dominance phase if you're careful.

I agree with theCrow. Such an easy way to discard a problem character. Also if you use Rich Lands and a Keep (LotR) you can use weeney Joffrey to trigger the response. Im very anxious to build a deck with this.
Using this in a Lanni KotHH Gold/Dom Rush deck now. While the Joffrey combo doesn't come off as often as I'd like (much like Dom Tywin he draws kills like honey draws bees), it has proven very reliable for significant acceleration to power gain.
The other ancillary benefit to any kind of infinite-cycle card like this is that you can leave it in your hand as a buffer for intrigue challanges and then get it back in dominance. Lannistre are already very good on intrigue, but it doesn't hurt to have a bit more protection.

The problem with that is that this card (like Forever Burning (Core)) goes into your dead pile when played and the text brings it back from your dead pile, not your discard pile. Thus, unfortunately, if it's cancelled or intrigued and ends up in your discard you can't recur it :(
That's why I hope to use it before it getting discarded. :-)
Not sure I get this card. So I can buy 3 power by playing this card once?

What if I have 2-3 cards? could I use nine gold to buy 9 power in one round?
You can't buy 3 power by playing it just once, but you can buy 3 power by playing it, returning it to hand and playing it again if you have enough gold.

No, you can't buy more than 3 power in one round.
So. Let me get this straight.

Play it in Marshall phase. Pay a gold collect a power. Win dominance pay a gold, reclaim it. Still dominance phase Pay another gold to claim another power, then pay another gold to reclaim it. Pay another gold to claim power and yet another to reclaim it.
Standing, taxation, plot...

Marshall start it all over again?

is there any use in multiples of this card? ie can i buy 9 power for 3 of those cards?
Yes you can, but you will need at least 15 gold, or even 18 to get all back into your hand.
The good part of the card is, that it is an any phase event, so if you have all three of it in your hand, you can have three power after counting gold! The domininance restriction is only for taking it back into your hand.
Are you sure Vincu? I always thought, that in case of events, the limit applies to all copies of the card. Compare to Superior Claim (KotStorm) / Make an Example (PotS). Or is the limit printed there simply redundant, and you can in fact play 3 Superior Claims in response to winning one challenge?
theCrow is right. With events the limit is different than with other cards and in this case multiple copies don't help.
Sorry, your right, I forgot the limit part...

A friend played this single card three times in a row in dominance, spending 6 gold to get three power. I was think afterwards that after he uses the event the card is in the Moribund state so he cannot then pay a gold to get it out of the dead pile as it isn't in the dead pile yet. Is this correct?

Your friend played it right, card is not in moribund state for the remainder of the phase.
