Is there more than one opportunity to declare Naval attackers, as a Player Action during the appropriate window? or is it a singular framework action? We don't really know. But surely you could fuel *something* with that kind of ping-pong standing and kneeling.
FFG has some rule somewhere about infinite loops. Regardless I'm wondering if Naval Support is going to work like Shadows where they are limited to one support per framework action window.
I agree. I play Greyjoy from time to time but still this card is scary good.
I think *this* is the drawback for House of Dreams (ARotD). People were complaining that it had no opportunity cost, but the meta is changing.
I believe I read that each house except Martell will get a fleet card like this. Whether they'll be identical i don't know but we'll start finding out soon
I think adding a naval enhancement character would be during the player action window and then you'll get an opportunity to continue to play actions until you pass so it would seem you can create an infinite loop. The only way I can see this being beneficial is for effects that occur when a character stands or kneels, i think there are some cards like this but not sure. But it could be useful to supplement any other kneeling effects or abilities such as stealth or joust.
Indeed, and the way games are played will change A LOT with these naval support things.
I think it's just too good of a card, it's too cost efficient and it's one of these cards that have to be immediately dealt with as soon as it is played.
These fleets are making me think about using the kindly man char agenda, if I can hold off on killing him until after the fleet has been discarded then I can use the fleet against its owner because its non-unique.
Lets say Martell is attacking Barath. I can jump in as a naval attacker with (lets just say someone like Euron Crows Eye with a naval enhancement) and stealth someone on Barath. Then Barath declares defenders, then I can go "Psych!" and stand Euron, removing him from challenge, and then put Fleet from Pyke in (with Euron's stealth still declared on a Barath character), thus destroying Barath
Is that a proper way to use this card? Also would stealth still stay declared once you remove someone from play?
First, lots of new effects require that a character be brought in through the naval enhancement effect to go off. Second, the naval enhancement allows you to get around declaring defender limiters like Joust. This character in particular allows you to bring back another character that you might want to use in another challenge (or for defense).
Your example is a bit unclear, but I think you are correct. Regarding stealth if you did the "naval swap" with the fleet and remove a stealth character BEFORE the framework action window where you declare stealth then you would not get it. If you did it after that framework action window then it would still count.
@MissingNun: A less complex scenario would be you are attacking your Bara opponent with Scurvy Cutthroat (KotS). They oppose with Robert Baratheon (TTotH) since they know they can just stand him back up. During player actions, you use the enhancement and add this fleet into the challenge. (Note they have to be added before you can trigger their ability.) Then you use their response to remove the Cutthroat from the challenge. Now you are attacking with a 7 STR deadly character and Robert is unsuccessfully defending it.
As for stealth, Emptyreublic is correct. If you stealth an opponent's character then that character cannot be declared as a defender, regardless of if the character that had stealth remains in the challenge.
