i think I would have prefered this to be 0 or 1 gold without the anti-discard effect.
Cannot be discarded is pretty nice on 1 STR ally - you don't have to worry about Threat from the North (PotS) and you are probably running one yourself (immunity to Varys (SaS), Dissension (QoD) and similar effects is nice, but targs usually have plenty other allies). Although I'd say, that the no-queen requirment is unnecessary.

@Zatoichi. I do not think its the ability that makes her two gold. The majority of cards that have influence, have a gold cost equivalent to the amount of influence they have. The reduction in Strength and Icons is probably used to provide the other buffs. Having said that I think I would've preferred a 1 gold card with only 1 influence.

She's very good as she is. I'd have loved to have had her be house Martell.

She is good, except when playing against targ.

i certainly think its contributing to it. factoring in power creep i wouldnt be suprised to see less gold for more influnce now. practically no house outside of targ makes good use of influence anyway.

being safe from Threat from the north is nice, but is really the only significant aspect of its effect for me.

You're seriously undervaluing influence if you think influence isn't worth an equal amount of gold. And "practically no house outside of targ makes good use of influence" is neither true nor is it a good reason to under cost influence.

Definately Martell has a use for influence - I am wondering about including her in my Martell deck. Given I already have Tyrosh the OOH cost is potentially lowered also.

And a cheap learned crest that isn't easily got rid of.

I value your oppinion greatly Shadowcat, you are very knowledgable, but there is no need to be agressive. i dont agree that I undervalue influence, please do not go there. Im sorry but I just dont think influence needs to be equal to gold in every instance. An example would be Summer Sea (Core). I was only stating that I would have prefered to see something along those lines with this character, instead of yet another 2 gold, 2 influence card for targ. the anti-discard is nice for Threat from the north turns as Crow said, but personally, I would have liked to see somthing a little cheaper and more disposable.

VonWibble, you are correct sir, Martell is the other house that makes good use of influence. I could have been more clear when i said "practically." Currently, I dont see Stark, Bara, GJ, or Lanni having such an impactful use of influence in comparison to Targ and to a slightly lesser extent Martell.

I'd love to see a 1 gold, 10 strength, no negative trait Martell tricon but that doesn't mean it is good for the game. In house Targaryen, influence = gold that can be used outside of the marshaling phase, so yes, paying 1 to get 2 every turn, more if you stand her, would be nuts. She's very good as she is, be happy with that.

I value influence more than gold with Targaryen. So many possibilities. I'm more interested to seeing what can be done with the Learned Crest, I haven't really found anything useful for Targ yet.

House of Shadow (MotA) ;P

My main reason to like her is the Long Lances. Kneel her to ambush in Dragon Thief/Dragon Knight/Long Lances etc, use Long Lances to stand her, ambush in another card.

Step 1. I have Visenya's Hill (SaS) and my opponent has Missandei with duplicate.
Step 2. I kill his Missandei & its dupe goes to discard.
Step 3. I use ability of Visenya's Hill (SaS).
Question : what would be with Missandei?

believe the way this works is as long as she stays in play she wont be put into the dead pile, however if some how sent back to hand or discarded again couldn't play her again. Same thing with aegon's hill if kill a guy that is in play somehow doesn't kill the one in play. 99 percent sure, hopefully ha

Nothing happens to the Missandei on the board. There is nothing illegal about having a character in play while a copy is in the dead pile. The illegal play comes from trying to play a unique character that is already in the dead pile. So if you managed to bounce her to hand after moving a copy to the dead pile, then your opponent wouldn't be able to play her again.
Thx

The learned crest makes the card for me. There aren't a ton of learneds in the game, and having one that will mostly stick around opens up a few more options. Better than most of the other influence producing characters.

She's far better than any of the other influence producers. Not least of all because she's Targ (and thus can be stood by long lances), but also she's resistant to discard effects and the crest. She's so good.
