if enhancments really take off and become popular this could become a staple in martell icon removal decks.

With Orphan and Scourge both restricted icon removal decks are pretty much dead in the water. This is a crapy card that they chose to give to Martell to try and "make up" for not giving them naval enhancements, but seriously, paying 2 gold and a unique location (with all the location hate running around) just to over come the penalty built into the perception of your house card? No thanks, I'll pass.

I think this may become a powerful card, just having this in play will alter the way your opponent will use his naval forces without ever using its ability.

How useful it will be depends on how many decks run naval characters and what the next challenge enhancement to arrive is.

Shame about the blow to icon removal decks in the latest FAQ, I was expecting them to get better to give Martell something to stand up to naval enhancement decks.

yeah they certainly lost a bit of steam but at least Hollow Hill didnt get restricted, orphan will be the restricted of choice i think, there is still Qhoyne (THoBaW) and Greenblood Merchant (ARotD), and lessly desirable The Prince's Wrath (PotS) in case you decide to go with another restricted. I expect me may see some more naval-hate within martell in future CPs.

as It doesnt say until the end of the phase or turn, I am also interested if its permanent.

If it turns out that they intended the effect to be permanent and it wasn't just bad templating then things are very different. The assumption right now is that they forgot to put "end of phase" in there. If they intended the effect to be permanent I imagine the location would cost more than 2 gold.

Martell icon-removal is getting cards restricted? What the hell?
"enhancements on that icon"? I don't get it, so this doesn't remove all icons in game?

This doesn't remove icons at all. It removes enhancements located on icons. Currently that is the naval enhancement, but down the road it could be more.

so basically its a null card, save your card slots for better cards

Exactly. The thing could cost 0 and it still wouldn't be worth it.

IMO a useful card for Naval heavy metas. Couples well with Hellholt Engineer.
