Oh yeah.....super plot to return Balerion the Black (RotO) to hand and summon another maester for dragons
question if you dont put the in house character in play do you still have to return a character to your hand.
I would say yes as it is effectively two abilities, put a character into play, and then remove a character from play
If thats the case
Marched to the Wall (LoW) has just been replaced in my plot deck
This is great with Martell. You can return all these cards to your hand and then re-use their ability:

Maester of Lemonwood (BtW)
The Viper's Bannermen (PotS)
Ser Arys Oakheart (PotS)
Herald of the Sun (SB)
House Messenger (PotS)

Any more?
Also Bandit of Summer (RoW).

Suppose if you lack any better ideas you can return Darkstar (PotS) or House Dayne Reserves (PotS) to your hand tomake opponents more wary of launching intrigue challenges against you.
Sorry, even more!

Palace Spy (WotN)
Southron Scavengers (ACoS)
Flea Bottom Scavenger (AToT) (best with a Brotherhood deck)

This is one useful plot card with Martell.
From your list only Ser Arys Oakheart and The Viper's bannerman works. All the others are "play from your hand" effect, which can only trigger if you play them from your hand during marshalling (or any phase by chance) paying their costs. Put into play is different, and those effects work no matter how the character got into play.
But still a 5 star combo plot!
@Vincu

Billschitz is talking about the character he is returning to hand, not the one that is being put-into play.
@sWhiteboy

Thanks for clarifying that, that is indeed what I meant.
I don't see a word "then" on this plot, so does that mean that those abilites happen simultaniesly? So you don't have to return a character you just put if you have no other characters in play? (Because you choose the one to return before the other one comes into play)
No, they happen one after the other. But if you don't put into play an in-House character of 3 or less, you will still have to put a character back into hand. But you could put a character down for the first part of the plot, and then return it to hand for the second part of the plot.
Too bad about this plot's stats. Else it would be very fun to try it out in a few decks.
I'm going to try this in Targ KotHH - Bouncing in Daario Naharis (WLL) or Ser Jorah Mormont (WLL), as well as standing a character with Long Lances (THoBaW). Also makes up for the low gold.
