can this card be used in a moribund state when chosen for a military claim to trigger the ability?
A moribund card can only leave play by the effect that caused it to enter the moribund state.

So the answer is no ;)
May be interesting for putting into play Dorea Sand (TftH) & using its ability.

Why bother paying the extra gold this would cost over just playing Dorea? Heck, if Dorea makes your opponent afraid to challenge you, even better.

To me it would be the surprise factor since yuo can trigger her ability and go on the non-kneeling offensive as a surprise. Though I do agree not really a great card but could also be useful to get back dupes or such maybe?

Is it possible to play No Use For Grief (DB) on this card after triggering the response? Or does a Sand Snake Character have to be specifically killed (due to mil Claim) instead of being discarded to trigger No Use For Grief?

Either way, I believe this is still a very interesting card, since you can kneel her during a challenge, trigger her Response when necessary and play a unique standing Sand Snake from your hand. The Response fits well into the entire vengeance theme the Martells usually run.

The Sand Snake character (or The Red Viper) does have to be killed, though not necessarily as a result of military claim.  The text of No Use For Grief merely says "If a Sand Snake character is killed...", so if your opponent triggers a kill effect targeted on a Sand Snake character then NUFG would go off (providing you kneel required influence, of course).

Personally, I think it's far more fun to find ways of bringing about the demise of The Red Viper then unleashing hell via NUFG...

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I need to rephrase my question. Say I loose a challenge and during Step 5 of the Player Action Window I decide to trigger the Response of Bastard Daughter, there are no save/cancel responses, therefore Bastard Daughter is discarded and I decide to play a Sand Snake Character from my Hand. Next step during the Framework would be any passive abilities and then Step 5 any Responses.

Is it possible to play NUFG during Step 5 of the Framework Action Window, obviously kneeling the required Influence, since Bastard Daughter was moved to the Discard Pile?

Assuming you are attempting to trigger No Use for Grief off of Bastard Daughter the answer is still no because No Use for Grief triggers "After a Sand Snake character is killed" not discarded. Because Bastard Daughter's effect discards her, she is not killed and thus No Use for Grief cannot trigger.

Okay thanks, that's what I thought, but I wanted to be sure :( If the text of NUFG would have read "killed or discarded" it would have been a great combination with Bastard Daughter to speed up your game and get all the unique Sand Snakes out.
