Should work great with Gates of Winterfell (CtB) since you can trigger it in any phase.

True, but how often are your bolton characters discarded except for the Refugees?

Maybe some of the uniques if you're duping Damon or Roose or Bastard of Bolton...? Or the new Bolton army?

Maybe you could pair that combo with Wildling Bard (CD), but the "marshalling" restriction of GoW makes it messy.

The Kindly Man (VM) can get them into discard pile from the dead.
