i would have really liked to see either renown or kneeling required for this effect, other than the cost the other king renly seems to be superior
Baratheon needs more draw for him to be good even with the 4-cost tech... more so since it comes with 3-cost hate.
Also for draw you have Tycho Nestoris (both prized and a better target for 3-cost or less hate)
I'd play him if they at least gave him some useful keyword.
The way it is, he is only worth it if you run lots of prized characters, which IMO, you shouldn't be doing anyway.
Even if I'm using some King Stannis or King Robert I'd not pick him.
Actually, after seeing how his effect works on OCTGN I can say that I was too quick to judge it. It is solid even with 10 or so prized cards in a deck. Running Huntress can mitigate his weaknesses by giving him melee and renown and I was always happy to have that extra reducer as an option even If it was only handy for just one round. His bottom right corner seems a bit empty but I can live with him not being a noble.
Overall I believe that recent power creep has blinded us to what a good card really looks like (it happened to me too) and that's why we don't see Renly for what he is... a good card. Baratheon will get their Dany card soon I hope but until then I'm happy with this (though he makes me hope we had a better title to support his triggered effect).
He's a good card all around(even better because he doesn't have the king trait) but i still cant see him being played over king renly(KoTS)
