can anyone explain to me what Podricks effect do? Because usually you discard cards from opponents hand during challenges phase. And challenges are after the drawing phase....
The key to getting the best out of Podrick's ability is to make the most of the situations where discard and draw happen outside of the challenges phase and draw phase.
For example, if Podrick is on the field when you play Rule by Decree and your opponent has to discard cards (for ease of this example lets say they had 8 cards in hand when you revealed the plot), they will discard four cards and thus have their draw cap reduced by four before the draw phase begins.
There are also plenty of other ways for people to draw cards outside of the draw phase. Things like Ser Jamie Lannister (shadows version), Meraxes, The Blackfish, literally dozens more - all of which are messed with by Pod being on the field, providing of course you have forced some discards to happen.
There are loads of interactions out there for this guy, just think outside of the regular phases and he will appear far better than he does at first glance
Thanks alot . I will love to include Podrick in my Lannister decks together with Tyrion
Can he really reduce your opponents draw cap by 4? I thought the 2 card draw during the draw phase did not count.
That's what I thought. Thanks for the clarification!
It's a neat and original effect, and it's not that I think it's overpowering... but do they seriously think this isn't going to be the lynchpin of a lot of frustrating combos?
