Nevermore will House Dayne get a character that isn't 2 cost 2 STR.

Seriously, the theme has enough weenies. It had enough months ago. Obviously the gold counter theme is going out the window, but I can't really tell what theme is supposed to be replacing it for this trait. I feel like we're missing a new Starfall (A prized one could be delicious), or the kinds of cards that reward being trait-heavy in a deck, like some more trait-wide buffs or cost reduction or search that only targets the trait.

Is it me or are Martell going heavy on the learned crest of late?
I think House Dayne is simply the go to trait for Martell. It has a bunch of support, but the support isn't really improving specifically, just the number characters.

Right now(before more Prized cards are released), the bright side of this guy is the naval enhancement on the INT icon. The character ability is currently nothing special and we really need more Prized cards in order to feel like it's worth using. I think the effect probably should have revealed 3 or 4 cards so that it is more justified. I think that he has Prized 1 so he can piggy back off his own effect. Pretending you run 3x of him, that is 2 more Prized cards his effect can work on that are in your deck.

So, for me, his character ability is just an extra effect to him. I think people will run him specifically for the naval enhancement and/or the learning crest. He might be run in a House Dayne deck just for the trait, but that may be it.
