If you win a challenge and multiple House Dayne characters participated, do you get one gold per character or just one gold?

To answer my own question. Quoth ktom over at the official forums:

"Starfall's Response talks about the House Dayne character in singular terms, so you can only put gold on one character when you trigger it - and simply choose which one if there are more than 1 participating. And as a Response, you're only going to be able to trigger it once for each challenge."

Given that fact, it seems like the power scaling here is really sloooow, and I have a hard time seeing a House Dayne themed deck viable. I tried to make one once, but I just ended up with a lot of weenies that used all their gold for saves and such. Any pointers?

Well, it's tough to pull that off, that's for sure. You can go with Southron Vessel, too, in order to pull extra gold during the marshalling phase, but otherwise, House Dayne isn't really all that well fleshed out.

Why can you trigger it only once (for each challenge)?

EDIT: I think I found some answers to my question in the FFG forum.

Well, what are you actually Responding to here? The character participating in the challenge? No. You are Responding to winning the challenge (hence: "after you win a challenge..."). So how many times did you win the actual challenge? Just once, right? So there is only one Response opportunity for "after you win a challenge," and since a Response can only be triggered one time for each Response opportunity, you are only going to get to trigger this one time - not the 3 times you'd need to place 1 gold token on each of your 3 characters.

Just to quote the relevant section of the FAQ:

"If a response or passive ability is triggered, the effect can only occur once per trigger. For example, if Sansa Stark (CORE S9) is in play and you play an attachment on her, Sansa Stark's effect (draw a card) can only be triggered once. (If a second attachment is played on Sansa Stark, her ability can be triggered again.)
