How would this card work with The Kindly Man (VM)? Sure, it might not be the best choice of a card to play with the Kindly Man, but I wonder how it works all the same. Does the Kindly Man's agenda requirement "At the end of the phase, discard that character if it is still in play" supersede Mammoth Riders' "At the end of the challenge phase, return Mammoth Riders to your hand if it is still in play"? For one thing, you might not be able to "return... to your hand" if the card was in the dead/discard pile to begin with. Also, if one uses the Kindly Man with Mammoth Riders, would one still not be able to "play any further cards from your hand this round"?
They're conflicting passives(both trigger at the same time, but both send the Mammoth Riders to different places), so the First Player gets to pick which 'at the end of the phase' effect resolves first and thus where the Riders go.

The Mammoth Riders no more card restriction only occurs when you play it. It does not happen when it is put into play. So using The Kindly Man to bring it out allows you to bypass the restriction.
