Just realized the brilliance of this Tywin Lannister (Core) & the Pyromancer's Apprentice (TBoBB). It allows you to gain 2 gold on Tywin before the active player count's income. Then you can bring PA out of shadows to blow up that location. Good ammunition vs. Targ burn & Martel influence events such as, Red Vengeance (PotS), Someone Always Tells (PotS), The Prince's Plans (TIoR), The Prince's Wrath (PotS), & the all devastating Westeros Bleeds (Core).
Except that bringing cards out of the shadows happens before start of phase triggers, so you wouldn't have gained the two gold on Tywin to pay for the Apprentice.
But if you had some stored on him from prior rounds, it would work.
Oh indeed. But the way GameOfPwns worded his suggestion, was to get the gold added to him and then bring out Apprentice,
