Are there only 2 seasons agendas, this and A Song of Ice? I know that there are the Kings of both seasons but neither of those have the seasons trait printed on them. If so then doesn't running this agenda against any winter deck that is not running A Song of Ice make it worth while in and of itself?
I hate these agendas with a passion. If they see play much in your meta, it means you must play with an agenda that does (almost) nothing for you, or risk being locked out of the seasons mechanic. It's not so bad playing winter, because this agenda is so rarely played, but A Song of Ice decks are still occasionally a thing, which makes playing summer suck.
I see your point there. Also after reading the comments on the A Song of Ice agenda I see that the gold benefit/penalty of the raven cards is not dependent on the season but only on the raven card being in play which further limits it's usefulness because it doesn't really prevent the choke effect of white raven. I suppose if you are going to play a summer agenda you are better off taking the extra card draw over the extended cap limit because it counts outside of the cap limit anyway since it comes during the draw phase.
I got a question, the agenda says it cannot be winter... But the Raven attachment says Immune to non-Raven card so, If I got the White raven card out it should be winter regardless?
So I'm trying to think of a reason why this should work "as intended", but I can't come up with any examples of why. ktom or bomb, got any answers?
1. In AGoT, "cannot" takes precedence over everything. Since the agenda says "it cannot be winter," it can't. End of story.
2. Immunities on cards don't extend to those cards' effects. So while you couldn't, for example, discard the White Raven with a non-Raven card, you can make it not be winter with a non-Raven card.
Yea, it took me a bit to remember that the effects/abilities of a card are not protected by it's immunity - similar to being able to cancel the effects of a House of Dreams location. So Lauren is correct that the immunity does not extend to the "it is winter" constant ability and the agenda ensures that it is not winter.
so this card makes it summer? unless someone else plays a seasons agenda (either this one or the Ice one) in which case it is neither summer nor winter?
thanks, i was looking for those cards that set the season but didn't have any luck.
As well as the Black Raven there's the Crown of Meereen for Targaryen builds or the Baratheon Crown of Azor Ahai. Different things happen for each in addition to the determination of season.
Look up Stark's Crown of Winter as an example of a card which changes the season to winter. Some players feel that winter builds are stronger...
