... I also like the thematic and art design. Fantastic card!
Yeah, that's what I was thinking about, that he should, because of that, get 1 more pronted strength thn...however that is idle imagination^^ He is as he is, now^^
Immunity is only considered when a triggered effect (or a passive ability) first resolves. A card cannot gain immunity to a triggered effect (or a passive ability) with a lasting duration once that effect has first resolved.
immune to events means the same as with harrenhal?nw-characters gain immunity to everything written in bold?
Only immune to events. NW characters wouldn't be immune to the kneel effect on Castellan of the Rock or other character abilities.
Let's say Jon Snow is in play with another unique Night's Watch character. That character dies for military claim and I attempt to play the event card, Call of the Three-Eyed Crow. John's transferred character ability of Night's Watch characters being immune to events I understand, but with the Night's Watch character entering my dead pile would it still carry the immunity therefore preventing the effect of the event card from happening (returning character to play knelt)?
Immunities do not effect a card that is out of play, so you could complete this situation.
Call of The Three-Eyed Crow is a response (although kind of a wieird one), so it has to be played during the response window after the character becomes moribund. However, cards that are moribund are still in play, so the character would still have the immunity at that point. This means that you can't use CotTEC to saev the character while Jon Snow is in play.
That's what I feared, Actaeon, so I appreciate the confirmation.
Incorrect. There is no response window for after cards are physically moved to the out-of-play areas (Step 6), so it must be played during Step 5, while Moribund cards are still in play. As it is still in play, the immunity is still in effect. Granted, the text on Call is super weird, which is why there is another FAQ entry that allows this event to work "properly" by changing it's moribund status to "stays in play".
That's just super weird and unnecessary...I hope second editions doesn't have as much wonky timing stuff.
The problem is not the wonky timing stuff but game designer who doesn't know how this game works.
Welcome to the wonderful world of A Game of Thrones: The Card Game!
But yeah, I would imagine second edition will fix that. Probably by changing ability templating like they have with Star Wars and Conquest. Action, Response, and Interrupt as opposed to the mess we have now. That way, Call of the Three-Eyed Crow would be a Response that would trigger as the player enters the dead pile, circumventing Jon Snow's ability. Other saves would be Interrupts that trigger as the character is killed, preventing the kill and thus wouldn't bypass Jon Snow's ability.
Quite. Although in his defence, he wrote Call of the Three-Eyed Crow as it should work. It's just the bizarre moribund rules that prevent it from working!
